    operating cost???

I don't think you are making that much, since you are counting loading and travel time. There is a reason everyone else is $30.00 to $40.00 and hour more, do you have any workers, workers comp??? I figure an average of how much material I can move in a hour, how much fuel I will consume...

    Cat battery

I use Deka in everything, and they are excellent batteries. I do believe they make batteries for cat, I don't think they are that much more from the dealer.

demo saws, who makes the best?

Stumpjumper, I've had a few different demo saws, now all I have is Partner. I have 3 K750, and 1 K950, and won't have anything else. I had stihl before, but I never thought they started very easily, flooded way to easy. I bought a Dolmar cut off saw (PC 7435), and a chainsaw (PS 7900)...

What have you found while digging?

Reel, thanks for sharing I found it interesting. We have found bottles, a few arrow heads that kind of stuff. We have a fun, but no so funny story. We where digging a set of footers for a new garage, the home owners where excited and all watching. The husband comes up to me before we...

Waste oil sink for oil heater tank

Nice Job Very nice job, I really like the details you put into your sink and drain. Being able to strain, and let any pans be stored and complete drain is great. This is a very nice set up, thanks for sharing. We are installing a bulk tank to put our waste oil in, and we have been bouncing...

    Painting Excavators

Deeretime, what we have found that works for faded, and scratched paint we use a DA sander feather in all scratches and sand the rest of the surface (I use this rule of thumb for equipment, trailers I almost always blast). We blast somethings, the main gauge I use to blast or not is time, and...

    Explanation of Bocat control switches

Very nice explanation ATCO, the only thing I can add is the right button (Aux Pressure Release) may or may not be used on your machine depending on the year to release the hydraulic pressure so you can release the hydraulic couplers on your attachment. The way to find out is to hold the button...

    50 Ton Transport Tires

I agree with Jake, I have and do run caps. With that said on our detach lowboy 50 ton I don't run cold caps anymore (Cold caps aka band-aid caps) but we are running hot melt caps Acu Tread. We don't have a lot of long hauls just local within 50 miles and with the cold caps they would seem to...

    Trench collapse in Pa

Very sad news anytime of the year, but during the holidays it is compounded truly sad. Dayexco.... I agree with a lot of your points, I constantly remind my guys of the rules, and on occasions I will pull up and have to have a talk or give someone some time off, always put me in a bad mood...

    Wierd excavator bucket

Bucket Greg I'm not even sure what all that means in regard to the bucket, but I will give it some serious thought. I see no practical application for the feet for demo. We do commercial and residential demo, and I just don't see a use, and the breakout force isn't nearly as strong when...
