Some general land clearing dating back a fair while ago now. Eagle eyes might notice the 6C in the last three pictures, well if you look hard in the bogged photo, the blade lift rams are attached lower to the blade then they usually are. The contractor had another set of balls attached lower...

Quite an interesting crane setup in the back of his ute as well.

    caterpillar 46a28559 year please

It is staggering how many 46A D8H's they made. They must have had multiple assembly lines to be making so many a day. 34 000 or so 46A's in 15 years.

    Anti sandblast radiator screen

I found those screens good for getting grass and muck between them and the radiator and then very difficult to remove and keep clean.

Here is an unusual one. They are D7 ripper tynes mounted on opposite sides of the blade of each machine. They were pretty effective. I only saw one tree pull them up in the forest country. Also be good for pulling trees away from fence lines. Downside was they were also good at collecting...

Not to keen on that design as I can see damage get done if you lift the blade as you push, you could rip it off or bend something. It seems to be a recent development trying to get away from the third leg that rests on the mouldboard. Trying to also work out how far to have it stick out the...

Yes, when I got my rake, those pushers were supposed to come with it, but I asked for no pusher for a bit cheaper. In hindsight, probably should have got the pusher with the rake. If I make one light enough it should not be too hard to lift on and off as required. I did go to pick up the...

Just a simple blade mounted one. It has had one fitted before are the blade lugs are already there, albeit for some reason angled inwards so anything pinned to it cannot pivot up as it would jam. Ideally I would get another dozer in and a chain it to get it all on the ground prior to raking...

Chrome shaft pitting repair back yard

A lot of their stuff is just older stuff they import from places like the UK, USA etc where no one wants them. Old dozers in the USA really are dirt cheap or used to be compared to other parts of the world where there are less of them. Even here in Australia for decades we have had dealers...

Well I have ordered a new genuine part from Cat. I have heard from another source that when it comes to these dimensionally critical parts, aftermarket can be a crap shoot. I have also finished off making another one of these thinning bars. This one is made up of 3 metre sections and is...

Back to my problem with the track frame alignment. It certainly is in the location of the outer support. Glum suggests just stacking on more shims. Problem with this is the two pins that stick out to stop rotation of the shims and the outer plate and the nut lock, do not stick out very far...

ROFL, notice when they are straightening in the press the press operator has the sense to at least try to hide behind the press uprights. Meanwhile the camera operator is just standing there ready to be a target should the dodgy extension piece come flying out. Now that's dedication to getting...

Adding Rippers to a Cat D6H diff steer

A bit of an afterthought. Have you considered adding a set of rear remotes while you are at it in case you pull some implement down the track? Nor knowing what your application is going to be, but if agricultural, you can do some different stuff.

Adding Rippers to a Cat D6H diff steer

Well these new fangled machines run higher pressures so can run smaller diameter cylinders and less oil flowand have the same travel speed and same breakout force as bigger rams with lower pressures, but bigger flows that the old reliable machines have. :)

Adding Rippers to a Cat D6H diff steer

With the diverter valve what size pipe does it use? 1/2" or 3/4? I am guessing at that flow rate 1/2" pipe. 80l/min seems a bit small to me, especially since you have twin rams on your rippers. Don't also forget you will need one that is closed so that the oil gets blocked when not diverted...
