Case 480c TLB doesn't want to move.

I'd say it has about an inch of free play. It tries to move a bit and if I really ease into it it will move but throttle input has no effect on it. I'm pretty sure the shuttle has oil in it because it's leaking from the yoke seal on the drive shaft side. I was shared a 480c manual and studying...

Case 480c TLB doesn't want to move.

I think I can rule out the high low range possibly being the issue. It's stuck but it's the lever rusted to the pin it pivots on. I took the grease zert out and squirted some kroil in the hole. I'll let that sit overnight and grease it tomorrow and see if it frees it up. So I'll just have to...

Case 480c TLB doesn't want to move.

I'll go out tomorrow morning and reach on top of it tomorrow to see if I can feel that. There doesn't seem to be much clearance up there.

Case 480c TLB doesn't want to move.

Tried the hi low range this afternoon and it's stuck. Maybe it's in between. Did t really have time to investigate any further. I wonder if it is stuck in between, would it try to move at all?

Case 480c TLB doesn't want to move.

Yeh it seems to have the right amount of play when it releases. I wonder if the rear main is leaking in it..

Case 480c TLB doesn't want to move.

I can't find a dip stick or a fill tube. There's a round hole on top beside the fuel filler and it has a tube with a pipe plug in it but it doesn't seem to go down to the drivetrain. I think it's just a vent for something, fuel tank maybe? Here are some pics. Maybe someone can tell me what I've...

Case 480c TLB doesn't want to move.

Will do. I'll look where you recommend. I sure think it has a clutch and it has the forward reverse lever on the column. I have to push the clutch in to change between the two. I have been using the TSC case oil. Once I get the leaks fixed I'll get the Case oil. I sure hope it's something as...

Case 480c TLB doesn't want to move.

I was moving dirt yesterday and today when I started it up I could get it to move. After running about 5 minutes it would just creep forward or backwards. There was no increase in speed when throttled. I need to figure out if it's the clutch or the shuttle. I don't see a drain on the shuttle or...

Need some tips on getting to the fittings inside boom casting--Case 480C

Oh yeh that pic helps a lot. I'll see if I can just pull that out far enough to get to those hose ends. Lol yeh I'm not really up to speed on what all this stuff is called a I'm just winging it.

Need some tips on getting to the fittings inside boom casting--Case 480C

Good tips. I'll see what I can do. Can't really see inside there. TBH I haven't had a chance to look at it real close today, at work right now. I'll get it extended tomorrow and see just how much room there is. After studying those pics for a bit, I see there are a couple of through holes with...

Need some tips on getting to the fittings inside boom casting--Case 480C

These are the hose I'm talking about. I'll have to get a crows foot that size. I'm pretty sure I don't have one that big.

Need some tips on getting to the fittings inside boom casting--Case 480C

Oh yeah sorry. It's a Case 480c. TLB. I'm not at home at the moment so I'll get some tonight. I did look through the service manual and didn't see anything about it. I only saw a hydraulics diagram.

Need some tips on getting to the fittings inside boom casting--Case 480C

I'm working through several recent issues with this machine since it's been sitting for 5 years. The recent thing is the 4 hoses that go from under the hoe attachment up through the boom casting. One is leaking but if I can figure out how to get to the fittings I'm going to replace all 4. The...

Case 480c outriggers won't lift tractor

So, I noticed the grass was wet under the tractor. The fitting on the loader supply line was leaking. Tightening it didn't help. I pulled the hose off and it had been cross threaded on. I had to pull the fitting off the control valve. That meant pulling the fender because the fitting is a 90 and...

Case 480c outriggers won't lift tractor

All the other functions were working until today. I extended the boom and went to retract it and it extended further. It just keeps extending no matter which way I pull the lever. I'm kind of in a pickle now.

Case 480c outriggers won't lift tractor

I should add that they retract normally and quickly.

Case 480c outriggers won't lift tractor

This just happened today. They were working fine last week. They put a little pressure on the ground but won't raise it off the ground. I checked fluid level and I had to add about a gallon but I had the loader extended and the boom and dipper. If anyone could point me in the right direction I'd...

    Auxiliary hydraulics on Case 480c?

I'd like to put a log splitter on the dipper. Is there a good way to put hydraulics to the cylinder on the splitter?

Thoughts on adding lift pump to case 480c?

I did in fact know about that. I had the same issue. Mine was so packed with rust and crud no fuel was getting to the fuel filters and the engine wouldn't start. I ran a rod up though it and alot of water came out. I'm not sure how that much water got in the tank. It was always capped. The...
