What to look for in a used jack hammer?

Hey guys, figured I'd give you an update..... I found a used Chicago Pneumatic 60# hammer with 3 bits. I went to look at it and bought it on the spot. All seals good, everything functioned as it should. Guy who owned it was getting out of the business. Thanks for all the replies, really...

Deere backhoe will not move! need some help

The accessory relay in my 310D went, and when I finally figured it out, I finally had 12v power to everything that was supposed to. No more intermittent functions on anything. Glad thats all it was.

What to look for in a used jack hammer?

Mostly concrete sidewalks or slabs, with some asphalt driveway and road utility repair. For asphalt, I usually just cut and use the bucket to rip it out, but there are instances where the bucket is too wide and just need to hammer it out.

What to look for in a used jack hammer?

Thanks guys for replying. I think I have a better handle on what I'm looking for for my applications. Is the difference between a 60 and 90lb hammer just the weight? pros and cons of each? Any more suggestions are surely welcome That made me laugh, unfortunately my company can't...

Dissapointed in failed repair of front leaking plantary on 4WD 580SL

If the axle is not grooved, you can leave it the way it is. The only seal that should need to be replaced is the outer one, which is easy to replace, once the hub assembly and axle are pulled out. Sand may have something to do with it. The last time i did a seal replacement was on a John...

Dissapointed in failed repair of front leaking plantary on 4WD 580SL

The kingpins will no doubt be a PITA to get off. If you look at them, they should have some sort of notch where the flat part bolts into the hub assembly. Thats where you'll need to start to get them off.

    Armour tires

What's making you look into them? Price? Availability? Just wondering because there are a lot of tires to choose from. Titan and BKT are ones you should look into as well. Solid, and affordable.

Dissapointed in failed repair of front leaking plantary on 4WD 580SL

Deon, I believe the next maintenance item will be to reseal the boom hyraulics. Not leaking yet, but its integrity isn't what it used to be. I'm in the market for another backhoe to expand the snow removal portion of the business, and I wont buy anything but Deere. I just can't beat the...

Dissapointed in failed repair of front leaking plantary on 4WD 580SL

That is a 1996 310D with 4200hrs. Other than rebuilding the water pump in the winter of 2010, and replacing a relay, its been a good machine. I bought it used, and have only put a little money into it for correcting non essential deficiencies (missing window latch, missing armrest etc.).

Dissapointed in failed repair of front leaking plantary on 4WD 580SL

All my work on the farm and my equipment, oil on the back of the wheel rim looks to me to be a bad axle seal.

What to look for in a used jack hammer?

I'm interested in purchasing a jack hammer, preferably used. I'm interested in an air hammer running off a towable compressor. What things should I be looking for when I look at one? Are they any brands or features I should be looking at? Any thoughts, comments, concerns please send...

    Which backhoe loader?

I wholeheartedly agree with johnny_waz, the ease of parts ordering is ridiculous. Everything he said is how it works. I would too suggest a JD 310(pick a letter). I hate dealing with CAT. Everytime I have to go there, I get what's known as their "CATtitude". It always seems as if dealing with...

If you're willing to spend some money, you can order any manual you want directly from Deere. All you'll need is the ser# of the machine. They aren't cheap, but they actually print the version of the manual that coincides with the ser#. Takes about a week.

    JD 310D whine in reverse

It has had a full fluid and filter change last November. 2 years ago the water pump was rebuilt by Deere. I havent had any major mechanical issues with it since the water pump. I am the second owner, it was bought new by a construction company that had gone out of business. The maintemance they...

    JD 310D whine in reverse

Ive owned the machine for 2 years and it's always whined in reverse. The load on the machine has never affected the whine. Also, after running it for a while, the transmission temp alarm will sometimes come on, and if I let it idle for a few minutes, I'm good to go. It's going to be...

    JD 310D whine in reverse

1996 JD 310D 4x4, everything works as it should. Only issue I have is when in reverse, I hear a whine, which to me seems to be coming from the reverser. Anyone have any experience with this and/or know to remedy this?
