    Cat 302.5C tracking issue

Thanks John Yes the machine still travels straight as it stalls I believe the tracking and the stalling directly related as you can use all arm “top machine functions” with no issue then you go to move on to next position and have tracking issues to stall engine

    Thumb on 2.5t excavator

My new thumb will be an arc shape And will have some “blunt” teeth incorporated along the jaw The current thumb is as wide as a 300 bucket (12inch) line up in the inner edge of 450 (18) teeth I find it works best with my 600 (24) as it is half way between the outer 2 teeth Interesting that...

    Thumb on 2.5t excavator

I was thinking of just using mild steel as it is easy to work with and make the thumb. And I can hard face the wear points. The shape that it is currently is fine and I have no trouble picking up trees and rocks. It just fowls on the quick hitch and you can never “close” it fully to the bucket...

Is it slow in one direction or both? Does the blade creep at all? Do the travel levers move correctly? Focus on them are they loose left and right, is there a large “neutral” between forewards and back? Are they cable or pilot operated?

    Thumb on 2.5t excavator

    Thumb on 2.5t excavator

007 I understand exactly where you are coming from The geometry is fine and my new thumb is going to have the same length The main difference is it’s thickness It is a hitch pivot style And the hydraulic cylinder in use is a bucket cylinder from the same machine The thumb has approximately...

    Flail mower/mulched head question

That’s just the thing hobby time a tractor one 1m long is lighter than an excavator one .7m long I’m trying to work out if more hammers make it easier to cut because each hammer would take a smaller chunk if that makes sense All I can see having to do is remove the pto angle drive from the...
