    Case Backhoe

Ford controls are flip flopped from those on Cases. Ive ran both and have yet to understand the need to cross the hands. All it takes is a little adapting for a lot more comfort.

What exactly can a backhoe all do?

The list of things a backhoe CANT do would be much shorter than things it can do.

    Tonka's Demo Pics!

Strange is just the tip of the iceberg. It goes very, very deep... Im suprised they were able to demo the college building due to asbestos. Unless it was completely stripped interiorly prior to the demo. Thanks for the great pics. Whereabouts is your brother working? san diego or la?

    Huh?

I like the 4 stick configuration. It takes some getting used to, but once you have it down its no big deal. Its actually pretty nice if youre going slow you can run it one handed because of the foot pedals for the swing. Im not too sure how Id feel about having the 4th lever for swing though...

    Huh?

only reason I mention the attachment control is because in the auction he mentions attaching hydraulic attachments. Im not all that familiar with older equipment, but thats the only logical thing it could be. Newer Cases have a much smaller lever on the right side. If so equipped for attachments.

    Huh?

Awkward and unusual spot for the lock lever, but that is what it is. 2 outriggers 1 boom in/out 1 stick in/out 1 bucket control 1 attachment control 1 boom lock

say go union or say no union?

What are the pros/cons of joining the IUOE? Local 12 is accepting applications for the apprenticeship program now. And since Im, as of this afternoon, looking for employment, Im really considering looking into it. However, I dont know the first thing about unions. A sorta family member is a...

    Boosting a hoe

and here I thought this thread was going to be about stealing another man's girl. oh well. Ive jumped Cases with my f150. I also did what has been mentioned already. Unless jumping a hoe will cause your power steering to go out, Ive experienced no problems doing so.

    was that guy that good?

ROP... Im sure OSHA would love to get ahold of the 'competent person' who allowed those trenches to be entered with those boxes as they currently are. ;) Ive noticed that a lot of the time it has been come down to a gut instinct that ive gotten when Ive either gone through a line (thank god...

    Machine totals

excuse my incompetence, but whats the point of running in 3rd when working? Wouldnt you in the long run get more production done in a lower gear? More pushing power, less wear and stress on the motor trans, etc etc. I can understand if youre tracking to the location, but other than that I see...

    Certificates of Competency

california has no such rules neither. Although, many companies do give you a "compentency" exam during the hiring process. Even though most of the questions are common sense questions, it still weeds out a lot of knuckleheads. And then a field test which ranges in difficulty depending on the...

    pool demolition

Anyone familiar with pool demolition? Im debating removing my pool, but dont have the slightest clue as to what all is involved in such a task. My first idea was to just demo it and knock it into the deepend and bury it. But from what Ive been told, that is not the legal way to do it. But of...

    '81 JD 410 Hydraulic Problem

I was running an 05 310G that had a similar problem. The rear hydraulics seemed to have no power at all. When I attempted to move around using the rear bucket it had no oomph and was unable to even pull myself forward. Had the rental company mechanic take a look at it and said its possible that...

    Dug my first hole...

Looks a lot better than the first trench I dug with a backhoe. 4' deep and about 300 feet long. Needed to merge it with an existing trench and the person who learned me up forgot to teach me the whole "trench straddling" technique. Needless to say 4 hours, 35 gray hairs, and a bucket full of...

What is the maximum angle a TLB can work on??

my guess would be slopes that arent so steep you tip the machine? :beatsme but like squizzy said, it entirely depends on the conditions and what youre doing. Also where you comfort level lies within the operation of the hoe. If youre not comfortable, you shouldnt do it.
