312D cat swing brake solenoid location

might be on the swing motor itself. not sure but have a look on the swing motor and could be on there.

    315C bogging down under load

did you calibrate the PRV solenoid?

CAT 311D excavator - low engine power/hydraulic overload

actually to check the wiring you could swap the plugs first if the harness is long enough to do that before you swap the sensors

CAT 311D excavator - low engine power/hydraulic overload

could me the pump pressure sensor is malfunctioning. Did you check the pressure in computer compares to actual using a gauge? the issue could also be the PRV is malfunctioning but better check the main pump sensors are working correctly before that. we have had several where the sensor reports a...

    Radiator Foam Seals

yeah definitely get some fire retardant ones rates for that sort of temperature

93 cat 312 not cooling down fast and looses power

just to double check the engine bogs down from the go or just after the oil warms up? if you want you can give me a call, pm me and I can share my number

93 cat 312 not cooling down fast and looses power

Can you run on manual mode and see if the problem reoccurs. Just wondering if the PRV solenoid is getting hot and not working properly when it’s running hot and causing your engine to bog down. If you run in manual mode the PRV holds at a constant level. It will bog down when you load the...

93 cat 312 not cooling down fast and looses power

so cooler is working. have you checked the pipe that goes to teh tank from the main control valve? and temp of the tank?
  9. digger_hunter

93 cat 312 not cooling down fast and looses power

I would do that as it would take you far longer each time to wait for hydraulics to cool to diagnose the problem "the correct way". you could just jam the valve first thing and see if that works first otherwise you won't be able to touch anything there with the hydraulic oil hot

93 cat 312 not cooling down fast and looses power

not sure, could be the normal return noise. it could be related but can't be sure. one way to quickly check is that the return line to the tank should not get super hot because the valve should be shut, but quickest way to eliminate is to take the think out, jam it with a few appropriately sized...

93 cat 312 not cooling down fast and looses power

Well since the pump is not producing pressure and flow as per target the negative control system would cause the pump swash angle to increase and put more load on the engine. So it could cause the engine to bog down. so the return flow out of the control valve goes into a T and one side goes...

93 cat 312 not cooling down fast and looses power

I think the battery lights a bit of a red herring, the problem is in your hydraulics. Do you notice that you have to run the machine at higher revs when you first start it to get it to work at a decent pace? that could point to a relief valve issue. otherwise I think this could be yet another...

93 cat 312 not cooling down fast and looses power

yeah thats too hot man and the machine would slow down for sure at those temps
  14. digger_hunter

93 cat 312 not cooling down fast and looses power

to calibrate the PRV accurately you need a 0-50bar pressure gauge and tweak the PRV pressure range using the display. theres. a whole procedure to that and maybe Nige can share the part of the manual thats how's how to do it. you could do it without a gauge and ballpark it after a few attempts...

93 cat 312 not cooling down fast and looses power

so if you put a PRV in you need to calibrate it. Have you tried running it in manual mode (flick manual switches on right hand side and left hand side of arm rests) and see if the problem improves. I think the problem is the hydraulic oil is overheating (should be around 60-65C max). So the...

    Cat 322BL Intermittent throttle issues

check the wiring harness from the steppe motor if any of the wires are shorted to ground etc. The motor has a small potentiometer that feeds the computer with the position of the throttle so seems this parts has either become faulty internally or the wirings faulty. You can check the wiring with...

93 cat 312 not cooling down fast and looses power

Hydraulics getting hot will cause the machine to slow down. In Cat 312's the problem has usually been down to -Faulty master relief valve causing pump to go to full swash -Fault hydraulic bypass valve causing hot oil to be dumped into tank directly (check if tank is getting super hot) -if you...

    Cat 308c CR

you need a 2 way spool with relief valves with proportional control solenoids or valves. I might have something for you on that but if the aux valve on their doesn't have it already it would need some modification on the main control valve side

305 first gen cat running hot

ok looks like you have a problem there. The flow to the thumb is probably taken out of the wrong place. It seems like too much flow going to thumb. also check pilot pump pressure and lines for temperature. Could be the pilot pump pressure setting is too high or relief valve problems etc. Check...

305 first gen cat running hot

Roger, are the hydraulics going to the levers getting hot? I.E the joysticks etc? Is the the hydraulic tank super hot I mean like if its like scalding hot its too much. you should be able to keep you hand on it. be careful! Better to use the IR gun just in case. do the hydraulics slow down...
