    They finally got me.

Its sucks but at least the tree didn't end up in your lap. A guy I work with had one come across his legs and he couldn't move it. So count your blessings, I'd lose a window over a leg any day.

The silt fence is for erosion control, to keep any material (ex. mud) from leaving the site. The E.P.A. will fine you heavily if anything goes into a nearby creek or river. We have protected wetlands below our site and we have to check our silt fence once a week.

    Possible H.E.F. Merchandise?

I know you were Digger, and I'm like you for the exception that my money was invested in burgers. For all you skinny people, you all can freeze during the winter. Like I say, "fats where its at!"

    Will You Be Here Tomorrow?

Can anyone really answer the question? Accidents are simply unpredictable, and know video or several hours of training are going to prevent it. It may help your odds but if you work beside others do you know if you can trust your life beside another operator? Well since this question was asked a...

video of cat 315 climbing steel scafaling

Thats good operating, but I would like to know something? When the train is going down the tracks, what keeps the trackhoe from hitting low powerlines, signals, or getting under bridges? Around here he wouldn't make it a mile down the tracks without hitting something.

1 killed in man-lift accident in KC

I don't know if it would have helped, but I wonder if they had there harnesses on and hooked to the basket. They require it on the job I'm working at. The general contractor warned all the lift operator to have a harness on and be hooked to the basket or they would be escorted off the site and...

It is bigger than the other D3's. It feels like you are sitting on a D5. We have a D3G which I will try to put beside of it and take a picture to show you the size difference if I can soon.

    Swamp 2, Excavators 0

I agree, and I don't understand why the second guy didn't use any plates. Did he honestly think he was just going to walk out there and pull it out. That one article says that once he gets the rental out he gets it cheap. Are they thinking how much its going to cost to fix it?

    Are Scrapers Becoming Obsolete?

We load scrapers with trackhoes all the time, nothing unusual about that!

    Are Scrapers Becoming Obsolete?

I agree totally with you Show. As simple as it seems to operate a scraper, it seems that is the hardest to train and get new operators to understand. I also see it with our company it is hard to find good push dozer operators. I see to many times cut slopes started in the middle or bottom of a...
