    ok, all this info is going to help me solve this problem at some point im sure. Even if i bring it some where I can at least give them a better Idea about what I checked and found so far. Ill keep you updated, thanks for all your help.

    I actually have that toggle switch locked in the up position because I just never felt like dealing with all of the pitfalls of the system. Never rammed the bucket into the cab yet, nock on wood. What and where is the pattern change valve. thanks

    Ok I finally got a chance to swap the hoses on the cylinder and this does in fact allow the piston to move in the other direction so Im assuming its a valve issue like stated below. I took apart the foot pedal and did not find anything wrong there. How do I go about checking the valves? And...

    315 not shutting off

    I might add that this same solenoid prevented my machine from starting and had to be replaced. I guess mine was getting stuck in the other direction.

    I found a way to bypass those position sensors years ago when they started acting up and prevented the boom from moving by flipping a hidden switch under the seat. I checked the the foot pedal and cleaned it without any luck but switching the hoses sounds like a good idea. I will try and do that...

    Just as the subject states, I have a hydraulic cylinder that only moves in one direction. I forget if it moves in or out but its on the offset boom on my komatsu pc128, any ideas what to look for before I have someone else try and fix it.
