Gear oil added to wet clutches - fiat allis fd30

Well, I looked out in the shed and found a barrel of 10w I forgot I had, so I changed the oil and filters today, just for my piece of mind. This way it’s done, and I don’t have to worry about it.

Gear oil added to wet clutches - fiat allis fd30

But thinking about it now, it doesn’t harm the friction discs when it is in a limited slip differential, so I suppose it shouldn’t do any harm

Gear oil added to wet clutches - fiat allis fd30

Well that’s good to hear. I was more worried about the gear lube additives harming the steering clutch discs.

Gear oil added to wet clutches - fiat allis fd30

Yeah, been thinking I might as well just bite the bullet and change the oil and filters. Was coming up due anyway I suppose.

Gear oil added to wet clutches - fiat allis fd30

I have a fiat allis fd30 that accidentally had 5 gals of 75-90 gear oil added to the wet clutch/bevel gear. The book shows that it is a common system with wet steering clutches, brakes, and Bevel gear, and holds roughly 42 gals of oil. Normally calls for 10w motor oil. Haven’t been able to...

    Cat 325b throttle issues

It's worth a look. It may be a couple days till I can get to it, but I'll pull it apart and let you know if I find anything as soon as I can

    Cat 325b throttle issues

Yep, pretty much. After running it for 15-20mins, it will work correctly.

    Cat 325b throttle issues

Yeah, I'll keep you posted to what I find. The governor control is a single cable setup, and I had replaced it about 150hrs ago with a new one from cat. I just can't figure out why the throttle would jump up higher whenever I engage the stick hydraulics.

    Cat 325b throttle issues

Sorry, forgot to mention, I have the service manuals for the machine and did the calibration after replacing the throttle control

    Cat 325b throttle issues

Ok, got a bit of a head scratcher here, need some knowledge and some ideas. I have a 325b, serial 325ba2jr03572. Lately when cold and I fire it up, the throttle doesn't control properly. Settings 1 to 10 on the display show properly when you turn the throttle dial, however when it is set on...

Fiat Allis fd30 injection pump part ID

Thanks! Should the power supply to it be a constant on when the machine is running, or should the power to the solenoid turn off once the machine is running?

Fiat Allis fd30 injection pump part ID

I've got an FD30 which I replaced the injection pump on a bit ago, but had a quick question and hoped someone here can help. On the pump I replaced and the new pump there is an electric solenoid on the side of it, and I'm wondering just what function is performs? On the old one it was not...

My Ford LTL9000, and an AC question

Thanks Fastdirt. Yeah, shes a pretty good 'ol truck. It's got 600,000kms (372,000m) so it still has a lot of life in it if treated well. It's got a 13spd, 40 rears with air ride and the 444 cummins, which has actually been a really good engine for me, other than some difficulty finding parts...

My Ford LTL9000, and an AC question

Yeha, I'm finding that the plugs are gonna be a hard item to souce. I found a place that specializes in A/C though, and next time I head into town I'll pull the lines off and bring them with me. They still build lines there, so if they don't have the plugs I might just have them fab me up some...

My Ford LTL9000, and an AC question

Well shopguy was right on the money. The smaller line right above this one has a square metal piece on it, and on the bottom of it is a tapped port for a return line. I would never have thought to look for that. I'll try to find some plugs for the lines and give er a whirl at getting it going...

My Ford LTL9000, and an AC question

Actually yes, at some point there was a sleeper on it which had been removed before I got it.

My Ford LTL9000, and an AC question

These are the only other pics I have right now. When I get home tonight I will take some more. One of the lines you can see in the right ofthe first picture goes up to the condensor and the line coming out of the condensor goes to the pump. The line from the pump is the other one you can see in...

    Hitachi UH04 9 Tonne

I have a 1985 UH122 model with the Isuzu engine in it. Has been an extremely dependable machine. A little slow, but still starts within half a flip and works all day on very little fuel. These old hitachi's are tough as nails, and about as simple.

My Ford LTL9000, and an AC question

Hi guys. I have an '88 Ford LTL9000 and would like to get the AC working in it. When I had got the truck the AC compressor was siezed so I picked up another one but just never got around to putting it on. Today I finally got after it and decided to change it out and get it working, but I noticed...
