287b hydo line to the left drive blew

You need to loosen/remove the bolts that hold the drive motor assembly on and turn it outward so you can get to the fittings. It’s been a loooooooong time since I did one and I did it several times. Can’t remember if it’s 14 or 17mm. Even with the motor assembly twisted out, it is not great...

Looking at Mecalac 6MCR - what to look for?

Stick that boom up into some trees and you may get showered in hydraulic oil. I think those machines have a spot, not sure where, but I imagine it would start with an owner operator.

Any thoughts on the new Hitachi wheel loaders.

Just curious if anyone has heard good, bad, or otherwise with the new Hitachi loaders. I believe Hitachi bought Kawasaki. They look fairly well built. Was looking at a ZW140 or 150 for loading mulch. We currently have a Kawasaki 65ZIV that works well with about 9500 hours on it. I know the...

    Kobelco Sk115 Vandalism

Sorry to see that happened to you, that for sure will make your blood boil. Not sure there’s any way to move it without it all hooked back up.

    Long Reach purchase.

We have a Cat 312 set up with a long reach boom, works real well for smaller tight jobs. The 30” bucket on it is about the size of a bucket on an 80 class machine. Keep an eye on the auctions, you may be able to find a long reach setup for your machine there. Your idea sounds feasible to me.

    Advice

I would think a 35 size machine would work fine. Especially if you pair the auger drive to the flow capability of the machine. Its probably a better choice than a track machine since you can dig your footings if you can’t drill them.

1997 Ford LT9000 tandem dump truck

A barn door is fantastic for an owner operator. When “Guys” are being relied on to operate one correctly, you can expect the gate to be FUBARed within a few days. I’ve seen them installed on a slanted gate but it’s ALOT of work. The ones I’ve seen, they added to the rear posts and relocated the...

Kubota SVL90-2 no power under load and producing black smoke under load.

So plugged in a checked boost. Fine when cold, as soon as it warmed up a little fell flat on its face as it has been. Got down to looking at the intake. Cracked, just as you said, and a large chunk that was cracked as well. The chunk was loose and we pulled it out wasn’t found like the pic...

Takeuchi TB260 - where to tab into hydraulic pump to feed hydraulic quick coupler?

looks good! Nice job on the switch install. You could also reach out to tag, there’s a good chance they may extension pieces readily available. If you have a set of torches or a plasma cutter you can do as Skyking said and template new extensions and cut them out of similar thickness material...

Kubota SVL90-2 no power under load and producing black smoke under load.

Sooooooooo. We had a bad injector. Disassembled, removed all injectors and had them tested. One was bad. Replaced, reassembled, programmed new injector. Same issue. :( I can not believe how much needs to be disassembled to get to the injectors. Plenty of fuel and pressure according to the...

Uh-oh.. Hydraulic Line Failure Under PC60-7

Mark, sorry for you troubles but glad to hear you are on the mend. Sh!t happens and never at a good time. I would definitely reach out to a mobile mechanic, the money spent on him replacing it will be money well spent. It won’t be cheap, but it’s hard to put put a price on your well being….

    Caterpillar 317

Cat makes a nice product. The electric over hydraulic system is not my cup of tea. You’ll also pay more for the cat. The support from cat is only as good as the local dealer. Just as it is with any brand. If I need a certain brand machine to be “respected” when I show up, that’s the wrong job...

"Shrinking" Mini Excavator - too wide for boat

You could purchase steel tacks and cut the pads down 3.5 inches in each side OR you could cut the rubber track down and just buy a new set of rubber tracks. Put the old tracks on when moving it on the boat, remove them when you get where you are going and install the regular size tracks. The...

    New Trailer Suspension Alignment Question

There are a couple of problems with all this. If you go back to the dealer, they will argue that you took it all apart and that could have caused the issues. We all know it did not and that’s not good business, but sadly that’s the way things seem to be now, but I would bet they will use that to...
