    Ripper for Cat D5N xl

Those are definitely aspects that I've never really considered.....mainly just due to only working the same machine setups that Ive known since I began running equipment. I didn't know that the bushes did not turn while tracking forward I just assumed they did since the system one uc came about...

    Ripper for Cat D5N xl

I will go to the shop and get you pics of our setup. they just free float when dozing forward and if put on a PAT blade can be chained up when not being used as to not catch them with the tracks when blade is kicked off to one side or the other. As to the effect of premature wear all the dozers...

    Ripper for Cat D5N xl

You can achieve possibly the same or better results with aftermarket backup rippers made by VAIL. We install them on all of our dozers because we cannot go without winches mounted on the back of the machines. What we have achieved is the getting rid of the lost cycle of making a ripping...

    D6T Undercarriage

Not to go against what you are saying I'm sure everyone has had some luck with this or that aftermarket undercarriage but I purchased a used 2005 D6R with a brand new ITR undercarriage that the dealer installed It didn't last 200hrs before pins started seizing and we lost a rear idler. I...

    d8r dozer undercarriage parts

First question is how much are you using this Dozer and what for? I assume since it is an 8r that somewhat takes you out of the "hobby" league I have in the past bought one of my machines (D6R) with a new aftermarket undercarriage (ITR) it lasted about 250hrs before pins started to seize...

    Cat d6c aftermarket track chains

Don't get me wrong, I'm not against saving money anytime I can I do, that being said saving money by going with a cheaper product that is going to cause my machines to be down is not only frustrating to me but also my customers. We operate in a very competitive market. ....downtime+Repairs+loss...

    Cat d6c aftermarket track chains

I agree with Nige and Cam85, I bought a used D6R with a supposed "NEW" ITR undercarriage and within one month or 250hrs had pins that were seizing and a rear idler that lost the bearing. In my opinion there is no other option than CAT undercarriage if you plan on owning the machine for any...

Winch guys Allied and Pa56 good and bad

Definitely a better choice to buy a machine w/winch already on it price wise Both winches I have are slow speed as far as I know As far as the feathering comment yes Either in or out , in our application (oilfield) we are assisting trucks lift or lower heavy loads so stalling the winch/ trans by...

Winch guys Allied and Pa56 good and bad

I agree with Merv. The computer controlled winches have lost the ability to "feather" the controls to allow for a smoothe transition when winching.

Winch guys Allied and Pa56 good and bad

We haven't had many problems at all with either winch, although we did have to replace the electronic controller on the allied winch this summer about a $2500 repair. Be sure to find a winch that already has a set of fairleads(rollers) on it already neither one of the tractors I own came with...

Winch guys Allied and Pa56 good and bad

I have 2 6R's one has the PA56 the other has a W6G allied, both seem to be good winches, I prefer the feel of the 56, we use 1"1/8 cable I think that each has about 150' of cable on each so if you are using 7/8" surely they will handle close to 200'. As far as speed they seem to be about the...

    Winching with an LGP

To put things in perspective if you are winching oilfield equipment in or out of locations I would presume that you are already working in muddy conditions, wider pads would definitely be a plus. We run D6Rs in the oilfield in KS outfitted with winches, most of our competitors run 6Ns also...

    new dozer tracks

We are getting anywhere from 5k to 7500hrs out of a Cat Hd undercarriage in a somewhat coninuously changing environment, rock, sand, clay, and a lot of mud/water truck pulls

    new dozer tracks

Deeretracks. How many hours are you getting out of the berco's? My machine came with a IRT undercarriage supposedly "brand new" from a used dealer and we only got about 1300hrs before idler bearings went out and slightly before that pins started to seize up. First indication of crappy...

    new dozer tracks

Might want to check with your local cat dealer, pretty sure they manufacture for all types of machines. In my opinion they are the only way to go as far as quality and hours that you will get out of them. I bought a machine (d6rxl) that Had an aftermarket undercarriage put on prior to us...

    D6R xl

The newer AAX machine has the newer style "pilot" controls for blade/winch hydraulic functions which is a great upgrade if you are sitting in the operator seat all day long, much less fatigue at the end of the day!

    D6R xl

My first Dozer was a 5ln 2000 D6RXl IG it was a great machine, sold it 3yrs ago when it had 15000+hrs! Replaced it with a '05 6RXL AAX machine I have put 3000hrs on this machine and really like it, have had to put a final drive on it and numerous wiring issues, but still a strong machine...

Know the height of what you are hauling

This happened just north of Hays,KS on the Hall St. overpass over I-70. A friend and I walked down to the site within a half hour of this happening, the driver was Not killed. I was amazed to find out that none the (5) 3/8 load chains were broken after this impact
