Should I buy this Cat 977H?

I would find a reputable private mechanic that has experience working on those older cats rather than taking it to a dealer....probably get it fixed for half the cost

2006 ASV RC-50 2.2L Perkins Engine Coolant Leak Cause?

The weep hole is your telltale that the water pump is leaking and needs replacement. There’s no issues running it as long as you keep track of the coolant level......the rubber bits are likely seal bits tha are flushing out the weep hole.

1989 Deere 455GTC questions and opinions

Yes pushing on both pedals at full engine rpm will bring it to a stop....change to reverse ease the pedals out and away you go in reverse. Those drive sprockets don’t look healthy.....there’s some weird wear on the the sides and on the tip of the teeth....like the rails and drive sprockets...

1989 Deere 455GTC questions and opinions

For information....I used to tun a JD555 and pressing on both pedals bring the machine to a stop. Releasing either pedal will allow that side track to operate once again. I also ran the tracks on this machine to destruction. This wasn’t my decision, but one the bosses made. The sprocket teeth...

Sad news for sure, my condolences to his family. I was always in awe of his vast knowledge about equipment, he will be missed here for sure.

    Bobcat T190 Engine help.

Just a thought....If this has been changed in the past, can the timing get screwed up even though the front timing marks are lined up? In other words, is there a positive way to ensure alignment without removing the front cover? And if this was changed, maybe the governor system wasn't...

    Bobcat T190 Engine help.

Just read through the whole thing, very interesting. I'm sure you've done it but it hasn't been said here.....you've changed the fuel filter right?? and verified fuel flow from the tank to the pump, how about the quality of the fuel? If so I'd be pullin' the front cover to verify all the timing...

    Best Machine for the job

I think If you could find a good 955 track loader, it might be just right....not too big, not too small. The lack of electronics will also be a bonus too.

What's 350 more dozer hours than you paid for worth?

You should ask the dealer what his response would be, if the machine he had out on a rental came back with 352 HRS more that what was paid for.....

Do you guys actually believe Tony paid a million for that dredge, or is that made up TV stuff?

Compact overheats until the hood is opened...

Seems to me that since it is an unmodified machine with only 540 hrs, the least costly attempt for a fix would be to replace the fanbelt to ensure the fan is turning at rated speed, and split the radiators to ensure no blockage.
