    Cat955k alarm

Any aural alarm on a 955K is aftermarket, the gauges in the pic are all they came with (amazingly enough they look to be original). 61H 1408 shows as 1967 build in the book I have.

930 41k Wheel loader Brake cylinder leaking.

Remember having what sounds like the same problem on a 920 (same system), where excess piston travel allowed fluid to leak via the drain hole in the booster.

Cat 922 B front drive dripping oil

Can you read the tag on the engine block?, it will be the same as the machine serial number (unless the engine isn't original of course). These scans are from the parts book for the 88J series, and the shop manual for a 59A series .

    Can 17.5-25 replace 15.5-25

I've run 17.5's on rims that were 15.5 from factory without any problems, but it never looked right.

    955 L ?????

The K's appeared in '67 and became L's in about '71. The 955L decal may well be correct, without a serial number there's no way of telling.

    955 L ?????

They were an off the shelf option back in the day; the parts book for my 922B loader has the breakdown for the side dump bucket. I guess there would hardly be a need for them these days with zero swing excavators etc.

    955K serial number info

Not a grey market machine. 71J is the Jap built equivalent of 85J U.S. builds.

953D Engine rpm slow to increase.

Owner used to have a BBX series and I think said the D is different in that regard though I wonder if it may be a fault in the switch? Will try to access any codes over the weekend. Thanks.

953D Engine rpm slow to increase.

Thanks for the replies. Haven't seen it, but I'd say it only has the standard display. I've passed the info on. Throttle control is by rocker switch I'm told.

953D Engine rpm slow to increase.

953D serial CLBP00713 Not my machine, posting for a family member. After cold start and initial warm up engine responds normally to throttle selection; once up to operating temp and engine is idled or shut down takes between 1-3 mins to build up to full throttle about 90% of the time when...

    Caterpillar serial number/ year model

94J series are an initial model D5 not D5B. 94J2338 should be a 1974 build, direct drive transmission, 3306pc engine @105h.p.

    1985 CAT D4D Crawler

Dave I'll stick with '64, but I guess it's academic really, it's a very early D4D that at first look seems to have been looked after by someone.

    1985 CAT D4D Crawler

The build year isn't on the tag. D4D's were built from 1963 to late 1977, the one in your pics is an early one.
