    580SE Hydraulic Plug Frozen

Actually Tinkerer, I never did get it off, the local auto parts store did not have a 3/4" drive 1 1/8" hex socket so I ended up just capping the lines to the pump. Kind of messy but I got it done.

    580SE Hydraulic Plug Frozen

Well it was 50+ degrees here today so it was a good day to roll around under the machine. Once I got under there I found our why the old disc was missing, it looks like it had actually come in contact with the housing and ground into the old seal. The new seal sat a little deeper than the...

    580SE Hydraulic Plug Frozen

While I do have a few cylinder leaks, my next task is to get the parking brake working. As you may recall the disc was missing when I bought the machine so I bought a new one from Coleman $$ and new pads off ebay :D. In looking at it, mine is leaking just as yours was in this thread...

    580SE Hydraulic Plug Frozen

We have success! I got it back together with the new coupling and everything appears to be spinning straight. I ran the machine for about 1/2 an hour (dug up a medium sized stump) and all was still dry! I think I'm gonna enjoy having my own backhoe! :) FYI, I changed out the belt and lower...

    580SE Oil Cooler Lines PSI

Thanks OldMan, yes they are held on with hose clamps so I went with the what the auto parts store had (Gates high temp, 300 psi).

    580SE Oil Cooler Lines PSI

So I'm finally getting around to putting the radiator/oil cooler back in and I wanted to replace the hoses that connect the cooler to the lines. I was hoping to run to the local auto parts store for these as opposed to ordering on-line. Unfortunately, I can't get any info off the old hoses...

    580SE Hydraulic Plug Frozen

Yea, that coupling was ugly. Understand, that I just bought the machine about 3-4 months ago and have never run it for more then 15 minutes because of all the leaks. So far I've replaced the break lines, installed new tach cable, fixed the power suttle valve (thanks to the help of this site)...

    580SE Hydraulic Plug Frozen

Tonight I took the first section of the pump off and replaced the seal. I'm hoping that the new seal and coupling will take care of the leak. Anybody think I have a prayer? All back together and ready to go in. Fingers crossed.

    580SE Hydraulic Plug Frozen

I hear ya bowen, I have one on order. I did manage to make some progress with the pump, On Monday, I got the front of the machine off and the radiator out. As you can see the coupling was pretty whipped. It had no bushing left and I could actually move it by hand. I'm hoping that spinning...

    580SE Hydraulic Plug Frozen

Thanks everyone, Yea, my 3/4" drive sockets are a pretty cheap 12 pt. set that really didn't fit tight on the already abused plug. That's why I was using the better quality 1/2" set. I'm going to get myself a quality 3/4" hex socket before I try the hammer/pipe technique.

    580SE Hydraulic Plug Frozen

I am working on pulling the hydraulic pump out of my machine (leaking badly) and when I went to drain the fluid the plug is frozen solid. I just destroyed a quality (snap on) 1/2 inch drive breaker bar on it and it did not budge. It does not look cross threaded, should it be that tight? As...

    Case 580se

I just got done repairing a breakline on my 580se. Yes, if you have the master cylinders with hoses connected to the caps they should fill from the hydraulic system. There are bleaders that you can get to from underneath but I ended up pulling the floor out in order to run the replacement line.

    Case 580SE seat question.

Wow, I never would have figured that out. Thanks Goose.

    580SE Power Shuttle Fluid Question

Well thanks to bowen's pics and insights as well as some good weather, I went for it this weekend. It was a frustrating job getting the ball and spring in the detent but I finally did get her back together and so far everyting is nice and dry! My E brake dosen't work (disc was missing when I...

    580SE Power Shuttle Fluid Question

Wow Bowen, sounds like you are working hard. I appreciate all the pics and info because as you know I have the same issue. One question I have (which may be stupid) is can you run it without the solenoid attached? If so that might help you determine where the problem is (O Ring vs Seal).

    580SE Power Shuttle Fluid Question

I had the floor out of my SE last weekend to repair the brakeline and I saw the alarm mounted center on the same cross member that the seat is mouted to.

    580E Power Shuttle Leak

Well I didn't do the O rings in the shuttle yet but I did rebuild my first cylinder (steering). Figured I'd start small. Check out how the old O Ring had poped out. I guess I know why it was leaking. lol.

    Trailering a 530CK or 580CK

I hear ya, I had my 580E delivered about a month ago with no brakes. Getting it on the trailer was easy, getting it off was a bit more entertaining.
