I use the nite ize steelie magnetic holder. It will attach to any metal object and according to one of my truck drivers, "It does hold at 70 miles an hour"! Who is watching the henhouse

Ok, I have to admit that I did laugh out loud at your IT guys post. I love the fact that we are all on here before or after the work day. It is funny though, the house is quiet. Wife and boy are asleep and I'm laughing like an idiot from some of our post. Keep up the good work. It is much...

    Boring jobs

Not a crane operator as well. My favorite thing my boss would say was "stand by". I'd call back at 15 minutes. No answer. Then Id call back at an hour. Nice when you are relaxing in the ac. Then he'd call"are you still sitting in the same place?!". He did say stand by!

Company graphics and window tint on CTL...let's see them!

I highly recommend the ceramic. My boss does all of our trucks. Even the windshield gets clear. Really cuts the heat in the cab. I can leave a cup of ice in the truck at lunch and most of the ice will still be there at 5 at 100 degrees out. We also do most of our equipment. Here is the boy on...

    Cat 248 Fuel Shutoff Short

It has been several years since I worked on that engine. One hot wire is the pull down and the other is hold. You could have the two hots crossed. One is high amp to pull the solenoid back. The other is lower amp just to hold it while running. That's just off the top of my head. Lots of tractors...

Piston nut won't budge - broke the ratchet - pics

When I started wrenching, all I had was a 24" adjustable wrench and a chain wrench. And a 6' pipe. Rebuilt many a cylinder this way.

    Cat 268B pilot controls

I had to install some of these kits for customers. It is just pilot lines but, I think you may have to replace a few as they are a different length. I'll look it up today.

    Truck Mount Vise Lubricant?

I usually did mine twice a year with whatever grease was around. I must have been really spoiled. Dusty yes, but never had a lock freeze and no salt. If its that cold, we just stay home.

Where to find aftermarket plastic skylight for Kobelco 210?

You are kind of stuck between the dealership and fabbing it up yourself. All of the manufactures I deal with have proprietary parts. The only thing that crosses over is hoses and teeth. Most everything else is a dealer item. I have learned as I got older, time is valuable. So spend your time...

MULCHER PROBLEM !!!! HELP !!!! Cat 289 with FAE mulcher flow problem.. maybe...

Is that the exact machine you bought? Looks to me that you do not have a high flow machine. Cat is proud of their editions. Usually machines have all the stickers on the side. That machine says two speed as in two speed travel period. No more, No less.

SOS... Lift arms will not retract from full raised position.

So when you power down, does it still bog the engine? Might be a stuck check valve in the lift circuit. 6" sounds almost like the spool is not cracking all the way or you have a hose still plugged.

    Veteran new to the industry

As a vet, I would strongly endorse Texas. No income tax, no unions on most jobs, and a fair cost of living. Austin is crazy on property values but, 30 minutes in any direction and you are back in the sticks.

    Gear oil dispenser

My dad built a five gallon bucket of his own. Schedule 40 pipe with all the fittings like the one mitch built. Very handy.

    MF50H 4WD Seized Front Wheel

Center punch and a good hammer always worked for me. It will destroy them but they are cheap compared to the rest of the parts. With heat and oil, the next step is shock, Be careful with your hammer, the cast cap is expensive.
