    Pipe Work and Excavator Size

I have used everything from a 160 up to a 1250 and everything in between. As usual I have to agree with Jdofmemi as a general excavator to use in this type of work would be around a 35 ton machine such as a Komatsu 300 or Cat 330 hope this helps!

390 you're a lifesaver, I never would have thought of that I just hope it doesn't interfere with the rotator cuff splitter or the continueum transfunctioner on the cpu hooked up to the flywheel sensor.I'll let you know how it works out, thanks!

CAT345cl-the big arm is not bigger than the forearm?

That's crazy talk if it was a shear wouldn't it be shearing something?I'm glad this thread was started now I see all the trouble everybody else is having with muffler bearings, thought I was the only one.Mine keep going out on my lefthand Skyhook. Anybody have any thoughts on this?

CAT345cl-the big arm is not bigger than the forearm?

Stump you almost had it,this model only has the triple final reduction gears and they did away with the magnetic opposition bearings in 2008.I beleive this model also has the post de-tensioner option which would drive the price up to around 12.3 million even more if it's mounted on a Cat.I...

    Excavator Patterns

Lot of debate on this but the main reason as you will find on other threads here, is Deere used to make machines with their cabs on the right thus boom function was on the left closest to the boom opposite from everybody else for the most part.Doesn't really matter to me I can run both patterns...

How the cycles of the moon affect dirt

I've seen the same thing when my Grandpa witched our well or whatever you call it Jughead. We got around 20 gallons a minute at 150 feet and the neighbors went to 400 or so feet at 5 gallons a minute.

How the cycles of the moon affect dirt

CM I've heard of this to and more or less can say it is true also all I use is 2 L shaped rods for finding utilities. Another fun fact for you is on the East coast around 85 or 90 percent of trench cave-ins come from the west side of the trench if your digging north or south.

How hard is it to switch dump Bed?

Is Godwin known for light dumps or are you basing that off the price? Godwin builds some good quality beds and are located right around Dunn NC, I know that's mostly what the DOT runs on their tandems. I would put them right up there with Ox Bodies as far as quality

Top 10 things to do to **** off your inspector

Usually I'll do all ten of these things to the Inspector's that sound like this and then when we have our monthly progress meeting when concerns are brought up that the "construction observer" as I like to call you can't explain, I'll take over as the engineers will listen to me more and...

    Tandem/Tri on Concrete Driveway?

It's gonna be hit or miss in my opinion.Depends if the driveway was poured right and has wire or rebar and what psi concrete was used I stole this idea from a local concrete company that delivered to me they had a release form you signed if you wanted them to go on a driveway or cross a curbing...

Training organizations/programs for deep foundation drilling and excavation?

The only training I got for pile driving was about 15 minutes of seat time on an old 5299 American and was told not to kill anyone. But all comments aside lookup Hayward Baker they're a big outfit but you'll proabably have to get on with them to be trained, but they did some jet grouting unde a...

    Mini's can fly

My Austailian counterparts you may rest assured that no American rules were being broken in any of these pictures. As for the hardhat comment that keeps popping up I can't enforce rules upon men that don't work for me and I wasn't the GC (General Contractor) on this particular job so those guys...
