    Trouble Identifying Your Bucket Teeth?

I think that would be a great feature for your website.

    cat 301.8

If it goes off when you swing left or right, and comes back on after not moving for 30 seconds or so, it's the swing brake. My Komatsu had that light, and it drove me crazy till I got the manual and seen what it was.

sinkholes softspots and the water table

ask some of the drivers coming to the pit if they can bring you some busted up concrete, or demolition rubble, brick, block or whatever. Sometimes that stuff is hard to get rid of for free. Then do as the others have said, dig out the muck, and dump it into the hole. That should solve the problem.

    Articulated excavator boom..

I have about 3400 hours on my pc-75 and no noticible wear. As woochuck said, the pivots are huge and I believe would be hard to wear out. Some here are fairly negative about these type of sticks, but I suspect have never used one. They add alot of versatility to a machine working in close...

    Legal or not?

Around here the DOT works pretty much bankers hours, I've never seen them set up on the weekend. While your probably legally overweight for the vehicle, take it easy and do it after hours or on a weekend and you should be fine.

Question about sending stuff to the landfill

At the c & d landfill here they actually climb up and look in the bed of the truck before you dump. Then they stand and watch as you dump. Before the next truck dumps, your load is pushed away. It would be very hard to get away with anything around here. They sanitary landfill is even worse...

spent some time with NY DOT

The county sheriff got me for mudflaps being about 4" to high a couple months ago. The ticket was a $100 and no opportunity to fix it. He sits on the main road to 2 large landfills and does nothing but stop any truck he can. He told me he writes about a dozen tickets a week for short mudflaps...

    hard to get started again

Trust me, your not alone! I was working hard and steady until the middle of january. Managed to drop about 10 pounds, back to where I should be. Then 2 months of watching it snow and sitting around eating, and I'm right back where I started from, very discouraging!

    Slow Excavator Hydraulics

There is also a strainer @ the bottom of the tank. You may want to check your throttle linkage. My hydraulics were slow when I got my pc-75, and I finally looked at my throttle linkage and was only getting about 2/3's full throttle. Makes a big difference! Not sure why it was set that way, but...

    Yanmar Mini Excavator's

A cab with heat is very nice in the winter, or the rain, but when it's nice I really prefer being in the open on the smaller machines. Those smaller cabs can get somewhat uncomfortable.

    Takeuchi TL150 Skid Steer

I find it hard to believe that anyone would think a 10,000# rubber track loader will out push a 16,000# pound dozer with steel single grouser tracks. While the mtl's are certainly impressive, they are'nt even close in pushing power. I can't say I've put my d3 against a tl 150, but I have had to...

Saw on road diesel for $3.999 Yeowch

Filled the truck yesterday morning at $3.89 gal, went by the station at lunch and it was $4.09. Unfortunately, I would not be suprised to see $5.00gal diesel by this summer!

    74 Ford L9000 With Dripotroit

Those two tubes hanging down are the air box drains, and are there to drip oil. I believe at idle the engine does'nt develop enough vacuum and will leak oil into the airbox, or so that is how it was explained to me. Detroit Deisel makes a kit that catches the oil, and then you can drain it out...
