Great thread thanks for all the pics!!! I'll be following your progress hope it all goes well. I also hope you had the clamshell supported when you were working between it, a hyd leak could leave you half the man you were before this bucket project was started :) Logan

Howling and Screaming Brakes, need some help...

Actually, little piece of interesting info. The axle assemblies Cat uses on their BHLs are designed and manufactured by Ford, so the oil additive is the exact same for the Fords and Cats.

    michigan 175b fuel prob

Hi Dave, In regards to your first problem (fuel problem), it sounds like water got into the fuel tank and blocked the fuel pickup line that runs to the lift pump. Even though it will clear up with diesel 911, i would definitely suggest draining the entire fuel tank when you start the other...

Cat Introduces new model - 986H in China

I think it will find its place, the current North American line up has the 980 with a C13, while the 988 goes up to the C18 I believe. So while bucket capacities may overlap there is no "in between" power option. The 3406/ C15 is a great engine with plenty of power and awesome durability...

    980b fuel problem

It sounds like a fuel transfer pump to me. It will be located near the fuel injection pump, I'm not sure exactly where it is, but if you can trace the fuel lines from the tank, you should encounter a small pump that the line from the tank runs into. The fuel outlet line is where you need to...

Clark Michigan 675 Construction Videos (475s also)

These are great historical videos, I've watched them too many times and I've got them in a playlist haha. The 70's music is classic.

    CMI Motor Graders

The CMI autoblade came out in 1969. Its like a scraper and has a power module at each end of the machine producing 225 HP, it is hydrostatically driven as well. I'm sure you noticed the cab can rotate in each direction for better viewing of the moldboard in various positions.

    Some old Green Terex's

Cat 980G Series I Fluid Capacities

A CAT or CAT Dealer employee has many sources to get this information off of, but that info would definitely be in an Operation and Maintenance Manual.

    electric diggers

I'll third that too! But I agree with others here in this thread that these machines could definitely have their place in the future. These are perfect for residential areas and in cities where noise and diesel fumes could be eliminated making homeowners less frustrated with the local utility...

    Liebherr vs Volvo Wheel Loaders...

This thread is awesome, lots of good points that give a rare, in-depth explanation of these incredibly complicated regen systems. I'm going to school right now at one of the best Cat schools in the nation :usa , but I've always liked Volvo's :drinkup

    Daredevil

I've seen this a few times, its a cool vid but i never got the point of it. I suppose its a marketing ploy to 'prove' how adept Liebherr's machines are, but then again you can design a special machine to accomplish almost any task these days. This is no standard excavator climbing any standard...

Great thread! Enjoyed following this one, hope everything works out and sorry to hear about the crappy company you had to deal with while buying this machine!

    Michigan 75A Rear Wheel Predicament

This website might be of some use: http://www.tractorparts.com/ They have a ton of old scrap machines of all sorts and might be able to help you out. Is the axle housing itself damaged or is it just the axle shaft flange? If the axle housing is indeed damaged it would be awfully difficult to...

    Lonking wheel loader CDM855

YOU and the other mods are the reason these forums are so amazing and full of information digger242j. I can tell that you guys not only set up the forums with plenty of thought, but you also reinforce (just as important when any rules are laid down) the rules you applied herein. I could say so...
