    Front counterweight for 580b backhoe?

I had a problem with my 580C the same way, We were placing a 55 gal plastic barrel of water in the loader bucket, which really helps. Found a front counterweight in a construction vehicle wrecking yard that is made for the front of the machine, weighs about 700#. What a difference!!!

    580c back ho seat

I had many problems with the seat when I bought my C. Took it all apart, cleaned and beadblasted everything, replaced the spring with one from Mcmaster Carrand purchased a new seat from tractor supply. Had to weld a stop on the bottom of the seat mounting pipe, as I recall, because the old one...

Hydraulic oil vs universal hydraulic fluid

I just made a 140 mile round trip to confirm that the problem with the EX450 is fixed - it isn't. The problem is float on the bucket. i.e. if you dump a bucket of dirt, and try to backblade it level, the bucket will float over the top. Pick the arms straight up, and you can move the bucket...

Hydraulic oil vs universal hydraulic fluid

What is TF500? I've been experiencing hydraulic probs with FEL on Yanmar EX450 since new. 2nd dealer has had the tractor for 2 weeks trying to find the problem (under warranty). Rec'd a call yesterday that they had changed the fluid and filters and cleaned the screen, and this solved the...

Work shop/buildings'; Steel vs. Clear Span fabric...

If I had it to do over again, I would build me an extension on the FEL that would be high enought to lift each assembled section and stand it up. I think you would still need the scaffolding and 4x4s to hold the assembled sections while you bolted the next one to it. Since you are only going...

Work shop/buildings'; Steel vs. Clear Span fabric...

The company that mfg my building advertises that it can be put up in a weekend by 2 people. Guess that's possible if they're both 18' tall. We worked one weekend with 2 people, then 2 days w/8. Cost was the deciding factor. This was much cheaper than a "red steel" bldg.

Work shop/buildings'; Steel vs. Clear Span fabric...

I have a 30X50 free standing steel building, looks a lot like a quonset hut. The secret to assembling it is two sets of rolling scaffolds, double height, with 2 long 4X4 beams on top, with about 8 people. Mine is 14' in the center, and took 6 panels for each section we bolted the center and 2...

Do you doze in first or second?

When I first saw this thread, I thought you wer talking about asleep at the wheel - getting a little nap because you were bored. That would account for the lack of control as per Hjoli. LOL

    Loader bucket "swings free".

After thinking about this for a while, since the two tilt cylinders are in parallel, why not block off one cylinder and see how it performs, then vice versa. Went to town and got 2 #6 plugs, plugged off one cylinder, and worked the other one, and it seemed to work correctly. swapped the plugs...

    Loader bucket "swings free".

Thanks truckdoctor, that's something I hadn't thought of. Then what you are saying, is the cylinder hasn't come completely off the rod? If it came completely off, would the rod be able to center itself in the hole in the piston and reseal? Is there any way I could check this without physically...

Clutch Cutout Solenoid Case 580c backhoe

I have a C, and redid the shuttle seal thing. Unhook the linkage to the solenoid, and there's a big nut you can unscrew the whole thing. If you don't have the manuals, send me a PM with your snail mail address, and I'll send you a CD.

    Loader bucket "swings free".

Florida says the lemon law, written estimates etc. don't apply to any vehicle that is operated primarily off the highways. I hope this doesn't progress to the point of legal action. I'd be fighting the deep pockets of Yanmar America. Don't suppose I could win. Today is a week since the...

    Loader bucket "swings free".

Well, here's the problem. This was reported to my Yanmar dealer while the unit was under warranty. It is no longer in warranty, but bcause I reported it in time, they still have to fix it. I'm afraid the if I tear into it, they're gonna get out from under that warranty. I feel that I have to...

    Loader bucket "swings free".

I'll give the one cylinder at a time thing a try, hadn't thought of that, bu I have extended cylinders all the way then removed the fitting and added pressure to see if a cylinder was by passing. Also swapped the disconnects from the loader to the bucket, and the problem moved with it, so think...

    Loader bucket "swings free".

As I mentioned above, the factory guys were here last week because the dealer couldn't fix it, and I guess he couldn't explain what it was doing. They made a video while I operated it, and took it back to the engineers to study. It doesn't seem to matter how fast you dump the bucket. The best...

    Loader bucket "swings free".

Yanmar Ex450 w/CL400 FEL. Been trying to locate this problem with the dlr and with Yanmar America, so far nobody knows whats wrong. Loader has a Prince valve, with float and regeneration. Dlr added solenoid operated valve for front remote for grapple at purchase. Raise a load and dump, leave...

    580C steering valve replacement

The main hydraulic pump is a piece of cake once the radiator is removed. Don't know about the valve. If you don't have the manuals, PM me for a copy.
