    Seller & Ebay Warning

Update on Slayton case: I have received multiple communications stating that Eric Slayton's name was fraudulently used. The web page that showed his name was pulled shortly after I reported it and there is no evidence that Eric was ever involved in any of Greg Slayton's fraudulent activities...

    Seller & Ebay Warning

I have responded to Eric on direct messaging. The case is still ongoing. Gregory Slayton has been indicted by the Florida Attorney General's office and is waiting for trial. The case has been delayed multiple times I believe because of the mess caused by Covid and the Governor of the State...

    HM400 Box Control

It might be a trade in or just going to another job. The subject truck is working down at Washington Quarry. I've been looking at Hos Bros. stuff for years. They likely would have put it in Modern's shop after the second time it happened.

    HM400 Box Control

Its got a control box that the lever hooks to and it is mounted behind the seat and a pain to get at. I'm not on the job for the problem. My friend just wants to know if anyone else has had the issue. Two similar machines in a relatively small area tends to make the hair stand up on the back of...

    HM400 Box Control

I got a call this morning from a friend troubled about a scary occurrence on his HM400-1 articulated haul truck. It seems a couple of weeks ago his operator was on a haul when the box started going up on its own. People saw it going up and through a lot of wild gestures and such, got the...

    Cylinder piston/rod bolt torque values

Loctite melts and releases at around 300 degrees F. I've done hundreds if not thousands of cylinders in my career and found neither heat nor Loctite to cause any issues when rebuilding cylinders. When cylinders required extreme amounts of torque to secure a piston on a rod, the best answer to...

I know the post is going back to the original but I do have to ask others to read the two links given in full to understand that the owners and officers in both cases are not liable for the actions of the LLCs. That is the point being made earlier. My point stands, that if you want to make...

    CAT 938F ELECTRICAL ISSUES

It's a 27 year old machine and there were a lot of wiring harness issues in those days. Do you see the wiring looms covered in oil in any places? How about cut marks and splicing?

    Cylinder piston/rod bolt torque values

A bolt used in a properly designed application and torqued to the design value will not come loose. A bolt coming loose is being stretched. They don't come loose by turning on their own.

Coolant in oil Detroit 6V53 Diesel Engine

A kind of general spec that my aging brain seems to remember, they were like 0.003 to 0.007 measured using plastigage.

    Insley H600 Excavator

Koehring juice machines and early Link-Belt hydraulics also had a master clutch. Most were brutal hybrid machines that used a hydraulic motor to turn down shafts and swing mechanisms that were all mechanical. In addition to cold starting of the engines, they were also a safety feature as you...
