    John Deere 675b loses power

I put a fuel pressure guage in the fuel line after the electric pump with a T fitting and I was only seeing about 1 1/2 psi pressure. The pressure stayed consistent whether the machine was on or off. Does that seem too low? Jim

    John Deere 675b loses power

Hello, I am working on a John Deere 675b w/a Yanmar diesel engine. When you are using it at full throttle, it will intermittently slow down to an idle speed, then die. After you let it sit for about half a minute, it will start back up and you can limp it back to the shop. I have already...

    torque converter

Thanks guys. I am still wondering in what manner the plate is broken, as it only has rotational play. I really can't pry it back and forth any. I'm suprised that it hasn't exploded, as bad as it was knocking. Oh well, guess I'll be splitting her in a little while. Jim

    torque converter

Hello everyone, I am working on a Massey Ferguson 50c diesel backhoe loader. It recently developed a loud rattling knock that is more prominent at idle than at higher rpm. I removed the cover on the bottom of the tractor and found that the torque converter has a decent amount of play in it. I...

    gradall hydraulic oil

Howdy I just got back an oil analasys for our gradall 534 d6-42. In a nutshell, it says that the oil needs to be replaced. The book recomends Mobil 424, but we can't find any locally. What would you guys use? Also, what grease do you use to lubricate the slides on the boom? The stuff that...

    530 CK Losing Power

If your tractor had a friction type clutch and you were slowing down on hills without the engine bogging, then the clutch disc would be fried by now. You'd be able to smell it burning. You still could have a torque converter, and your "clutch" pedal could be a declutching pedal. I'm not sure how...

    530 CK Losing Power

Matt, How many forward and reverse gears do you have? Does it have any hi or low ranges that you can shift? Jim

    530 CK Losing Power

Hi Matt, I don't know about Cases, but I just worked on a Massey that had the Torque Converter filter right in front of the steering colum, you had to remove a small cover to get to it. I am probably wrong but you might check there anyway. How are the brakes on this tractor? On a tractor I...

    electric/hydraulic brakes

Hello everyone! I have a question about the electric/hydraulic brake system on my 20,000 lbs gvw gooseneck trailer. The trailers break away system utilizes a 12 volt 5amp/hour battery. Along with the regular wire connector that plugs into the recepticle on the truck, there is another connector...

    pickup trucks/gooseneck trailers

Here's my rig. '74 International Harvester 200. 392v8, 4speed stick, 4.88 gears. The trailer is a 20ft, 20Kgvw. Biggest load so far was a John Deere 3020 diesel, probably around 7,000 lbs+ whatever the trailer weighs.

I just found that it is a Cessna spool valve.

    spool valve

Thanks for the reply! Yea, I was originally planning on taking the whole thing off of the tractor to work on it, but those non swivel hoses put a veto on that idea. Every seal that I have encountered so far is some form of O ring. Will the O rings that Napa sells do the trick? Even the spools...

Here are some pics of the valve block. The section that is causing the problem is the one with three slotted plugs on the back.

    spool valve

There are 5 valves on the spool block section that is causing the problem. 3 of them are just a threaded end cap with a spring that holds a plunger against a seat, they are located on the back of the block. The other two are located on the top and bottom of the valve block. They don't look like...

    spool valve

Is the circuit relief valve located in the spool valve's block? Sorry if this is a dumb question. Jim
