    873 bobcat opions

Went from a well used 873 to a brand new S250 and the s250 was a much more polished machine. Side by side, S250 was more beefy structurally. 873 was a good machine, but I think the S250 is the ideal bobcat as far as large bobcats go.

    Cat 307 c

My complaint is that they quit making the swing boom for them to get you to buy a 308. Then they one uped themselves and did away with the 307 all together. 307 with swing boom is a good machine. not knocking the 308. Both machines are good machines. Expensive, but powerful, speedy machines.

Case 580 SM series 2 hard starting

Well figured out one of the Batteries was bad and arcing out on the box. Turns over much faster which helps it start. Still chuggs and takes some cranking to get it to finally take off. New to us. Dealer came out finally after 2 months of complaining, scoped it out, switched batteries. Fires...

Demo of 15" concrete pad with 3/4 inch rebar 12" on center..

Saw cutting worked very well and if there wasn't the huge footer walls, it would have been done in much quicker. I rented to small of a hammer (1500 impact class), and had a lazy owner operator in the big hoe. Other than that it went very well. To much sensitive stuff around for the old...

Demo of 15" concrete pad with 3/4 inch rebar 12" on center..

Quick update. Day one in the books. It went good but things keep getting weirder and weirder on this job. Saw cutting went good, took all day but I think due to the sensitivity of the area we are working in, it is essential. I fail to mention that this project is at a Landfill. Well within...

Demo of 15" concrete pad with 3/4 inch rebar 12" on center..

Well after much debating, I decided to have a concrete cutting company come in and cut sections. Also after much conversations with other contracters it seamed like the safe bet to do. They have a call out for 3/4" rebar 12" on center. But I spoke with the guy who wrote the specs in the contract...

Demo of 15" concrete pad with 3/4 inch rebar 12" on center..

Picked up this strange job by chance that involves demoing a concrete pad retaining structure that is 40X20 that is 15" thick and has footers (speculation) with rebar 12" on center (pretty much given). 20 ton excavator, 8 ton excavator and hammer. skid loader if needed The grand question is...

    Bobcat Cold Planer issues

Are you adjusting the depth while moving and milling? It's pretty easy to stop a milling head when doing multiple functions (tilting or depth adjustments) and milling. Try this, if depth adjustment is needed, stop moving the machine, and make the adjustment. See if that helps any. I'm not...

    hydraulic psi vs strenght

I mean, they size the lines on a mini to give it a certain psi that the cylinders like Just as they size the lines on a 30 ton machine to give it a certain psi that the cylinder likes and the fluid flows properly and the pump likes and so on and so on I mean I am being very vague because its...

    hydraulic psi vs strenght

Just because the pressure is the same, doesn't mean if you add 5 tons of counter weight you will lift like a big excavator. The lines are much larger on a big excavator, meaning much larger pumps, pushing larger volumes, to maintain same psi pressure. AND NO it wouldn't have the same power

Any CAT 307 operators out there?

I like the 307. I have ran both a C and a B. The C being the better model due to more power and speed. A swing boom or side shifting boom makes them more versatile due to having a tail. They are very balanced compared to zero tail swing 8 tonners. They fill a niche and are very good at it...

    Need some dump truck advice

My advice is if your going to be hauling a bunch with the dump bed, get a tandem. Haul more and less trips. If your going to be using it more as a tow rig, get a single axle with a good motor. Budget being the main concern.

what is the price of new dump truck? has it gone to $150,000.00???

Its in that general area. There is an old saying, "Gotta keep those dumps trucks humpin" Some companies run double shifts for one truck. Guy runs it during the day. Then new guy runs it at night. Cinci, dayton, area, they night haul. Sand, aggregate, etc. I'm pretty sure this is why the old...

    Bobcat E80

Has anybody operated one? Seat time in one? Not just speculation or hearsay.. I know they are made by Doosan. They spec out pretty much like any other 8 tonner. I read through all the speculation and hearsay, but have only heard from 1 guy who operates one. So has anybody operated one? We...
