Looks Like I might be helping move a D10N!

Ah the last 11 I helped ship out, 1) Blade, Draft arms & Tag link off (No brain'er) 2) Ripper complete: Table, tool bar and cylinders. 3) lift cylinders off. 4) ROPS, Top Cab half & stacks (Height regs) Side frames & tracks still on. All depends on the local and destination laws. FYI this...

    LeTourneau Tear Down

You bet Nige and nice pics. I've encountered similar situations working for Cat in Africa. When they bring machinery to site they would pass through small villages, the company would have to pay the Tribal Chief and the little chief passage rights, Then the police would want a chunk. Then...

    Rope Shovel/"boom jack"

Well Iam 'Right' handed. It's a start I guess. So come in then, wodda ya been running latley? IDE be looking for that C-Boss. Nice stainless steel cab and a 30 grand chair. Any new big iron? They retro fitted the XPB with a Gen II Air-Scrub pro house last year and did the swing ring, the...

    LeTourneau Tear Down

Nige: Wor is that? Australia? Best way to ship but it would be a nightmare here. The last big 994H built here came in chunks and was erected In the shop. Anyhow, never really liked LeT's but Iam on a forum discussing and post pics, what does that make me? Got a call to this...

    Rope Shovel/"boom jack"

Anything is possible. Even you being wrong for once in your life is possible :D (But highly unlikely) Anyhow, Thought you were on the sick with ya back? Are you back to work? Hope they fixed you up good, a nice run on a scraper should help it out. Ah I cannot help but laugh when people...

    Rope Shovel/"boom jack"

The shovels here carry big buckets, if you snatch the bail up with the speed and power of an XPC it loads the entire front end up, you can drop the bail onto the bucket and full tilt it back up. (Which I do when I play shovel dog) the pendant lines spring load, bounce and shake the crap out of...

    Rope Shovel/"boom jack"

Yeah but av seen it happen so I will agree to dis-agree I guess. The problem is not as prevalent on the newer P&H Centurion machines as the ABSS kicks in. This is automatic and most of the time the operator won't even notice but we know as its logged. On these machines here it's all controlled...

    LeTourneau Tear Down

"Good Riddance" I hear them say. I wouldn't advise changing the diaphrams out on them brake Pots in situ. Even with the park brake released the pot is still under spring tension, The brake's are a pain to adjust. The axle hole ain't that big. (square plate on the frontal view)

    Rope Shovel/"boom jack"

Next time I run a 4100 I will video it. Am good dropping the bail and bouncing the boom around like that.

    D10 t prob

Low standby pressure or the pressure reducing valve that meters line pressure for pilot use. RGJ that is. Have a look on the monitor screen for real time parameters. Play around a little.

    Cat 795 electric drive trucks

Na what I ment was: Open the flood gates for every company to push this in. They don't call it 'Fort Crack' for nothing ha ha. Trance amounts of anything could be concidered a fail apparently. And no, People who are drunk / Stoned at work not only should be canned, but beaten up on there way...

    Cat 795 electric drive trucks

Leave the loading upto the shovel driver IMO. Some of the 930E's are only using one IGBT per PP due to the tsunami parts shortage so they won't propel if overloaded. Great for the truck. KAL Tire come in with SMS and weigh the trucks loaded and empty, then calibrate the pay loader. This is...

Mining Shovels- Hydraulic Snubber Failure- P&H 4100

Yeah av worked on snubbers and the Snub-Rite variant. Pain to tighten on the big buckets as you need a special socket. Not sure why exactly they fail but heat is a factor. Marion use a friction disc set up with compression springs and seems to be reliable enough. Most of the dipper doors...

    Rope Shovel/"boom jack"

Weight of the front end it removed from the pendant lines and re-applied giving the impression that the boom is bouncing. It not just crowding that causes it. Dropping the bail and then picking it up to fast will jack the pendant lines as well. Hit them hard enought and it will throw a 30...

    Cat 795 electric drive trucks

More like Komatsu are dominating the Electric drive market and CAT want a slice. When I was involved with the E drive project here they were aiming for a 40% slice of Komatsu's pie. In the end the two trucks offered got parked and eventually shipped out. That was a 'Pay by the load lease' and...
