Pony motor issue all over again.

My secret is my F250 swills gas during the winter so if the gas is off color but not stinky, I'll run a couple gallons of that per tank. Stinky or looking like motor oil I run it to the guys that recycle waste oil into fire for heat.

    Case 580c wont go fwd

My ck580 had a clutch pressure gauge on the dash and I think normal was 300 psi The shuttle lever and the 'clutch' pedal work together to send the fluid in the right direction, there should be test ports on the clutch valve. I'm not near my book but I bet someone here knows right off.

    Slobbery Deere, blowby question

Engine has been in service a while. Made a custom cylinder liner driver / installer as well as a cam bearing tool. Having a lathe is a blast. Deere parts online was able to get all new oil tubes and o-rings, and a few calls to some dealers had a set of cam bearings coming, a dealer in ohio had...

Pony motor issue all over again.

There used to be a fiddle around for motorcycles, pull the cap away from the plug just a little, it makes the voltage build a little higher before it jumps across the gap. Sometimes it would help if one plug was fouled, just pull the plug boot off a fraction until its fired a few hundred times...

    Case 580c wont go fwd

Well, it was interesting, I had ordered the service manual, have never split a tractor before and the machine only had an aftermarket cab. With the cab out of the way, unbolting the loader frame from the rear axle then remove rear axle and 4 speed gearbox, make note of the shims on the input...

Biggest dozer to pull without having a CDL?

Keep my windows clean, trailer deck clean, lights working, chains tight, trailer well painted and looking in good order, all my stuff and also avoid known dot hot spots. Officer I have no idea where that trailer came from.

Biggest dozer to pull without having a CDL?

When I was in the mind to do bad things, like slapping an old triple axle air brake eager beaver behind a pickup, no spring brakes thankfully (or not) but later found that in europe, a trailer over a certain weight has to have air brakes, they had hydraulic to air relay valves to control the...

Biggest dozer to pull without having a CDL?

I think everyone agrees that there is 'no consensus' At the time I ran my own crap coast to coast, I called my home state police truck team and spoke with the LT on duty, I knew I was heavy and was told at the time, 2001, if its your personal property and not part of a business transaction, you...

Biggest dozer to pull without having a CDL?

Heh, I agree if you're not 200% comfortable, a hauling service is the way to go. I had to bail out of CA during the crash, couldn't find a uhaul truck anyplace within 1000 miles, everyone had the same idea. I had my 89 F250 with a 4.9 5 speed, 330k miles. Plenty of extra springs from being...

    Yanmar VIO70 Boom won't raise

So that's curious, my track is linkage driven, the boom is pilot controlled and the pilot couldn't force the spool one way but it would move the other. You might have some big chunk of debris wandering around. I'm wondering if you could get a chunk of hose into a bucket or pull the non moving...

Looking for the right mill bit

Something that indexes snug in the bore, carbide burr on a dremel attached to the index and rotated to carve a slightly larger oring groove?

    Need a new battery

Right, get your tools picked up quick and turn on the heated seats! I picked up a battery at the dump the other day, Antigravity 800cca battery, weighed about a pound or two, looks like it'd fit a jeep or small car, has a built in BMS and protection, kind of interested to see what it'll do...

    Need a new battery

Had a dead brush truck at the FD one afternoon, something left on. It was equipped with a fire pump on the back, electric start v twin. Also had a pull rope, got the pump started and let it circulate water while its internal alternator charged the truck. Took a few hours to get the truck enough...
