Thoughts On A International TD15C vs Cat D6-D Dozer

We own a 15c with the 8.3 liter (505 Cummins very poplular) motor and it is an excellent machine. They are proven reliable crawlers and they also have outboard planetaries which reduce the final torque on the shaft. We have a couple 175Cs also which are more or less the same as a 15C. The...

    Dresser TD-7 TD-8 bottom rollers

Anyone know if the bottom rollers are the same on a TD-7G and TD-8G?

    My first track loader!

Sometimes the 175C would jump one of the double grouser bars while getting the back end of the 175C off the ground. It didn't sound good, but it was a fast way to load. The old trailer was a 35 ton trailer so it wasn't too hard on it. The trailer was new in '68 and we sold it in 2009. My dad...

    Td-25c

Our 20G's have L10s. They are normally rated between 225 and 250 horsepower. Sorry for the confusion. A TD-40C has a 1150 in it rated at 500+ hp.

425 hp wow. We have a TD-20E with 275 hp, I thought that was a lot. My dad put a L10 in the 20E, (just like a G), but it come out of a dump truck, so that's why it had more horsepower. I did get the 20E to stop spinning the tracks though. There was this giant rock on a hill by a guys lane...

    My first track loader!

My dad used to load the 175C without ramps on his LoadKing lowboy, (he took the ramps off, got tired of flipping them.) It was about as high off the ground as your trailer. He used to back up to it at an angle off to the one side, (maybe two feet or so?). That way one track would grab the...

I operated a TD-25G once. They really push dirt.

    Td-25c

List price in 1968 was $58,000. We run TD-20Gs now since they are lighter and easier to haul.

    My first track loader!

We have a 175C now. They are built proof machines. Dad bought one in the early sixties. It was the first IH with a powershift. He used it for everything. Sorry bout the picture, it's the first one i've ever got posted, kind of in the wrong thread.

This is a picture of my dad's TD-25C, taken several years ago. He's had mostly IH Dresser dozers his whole life.

I'm looking for a larger dozer any suggestions?

We pull a 435F Catepillar scraper with a TD-20G widetrack dozer, which has a straight blade on it. It fills the scraper pretty easily in 4th or 3rd gear. We use to pull the Cat scraper with our TD-20E, and that filled it well also. We put a 3rd valve inline on a TD-20G recently so we could...

    Hauling Demolition Debris to Landfill

Dumping at landfills Thanks for you replys. The problem we ran into is unloading the end dumps at the landfill. If the load doesn't slide out or gets stuck in the box, the drivers move forward and backwards trying to unload the box. If there is an uneven spot in the ground, or the load is...

    Hauling Demolition Debris to Landfill

I was wondering what demolition contractors use to haul debris to landfills from demolition projects. Most of our projects are 40-50 miles from the neariest landfill. The cost of dumpster is too high and its slows the project down when we are waiting on dumpsters. I don't like the ideal...

Cummins N-14 Redtop Diesel Engine in Semi Tractor

I'm looking at purchase a 2000 International 9400 Semi w/ about 950K miles. It had an inframe major (completed in house) at about 600K miles. It has a Cummins N-14 Redtop Diesel Engine with 525 HP, with a 13-speed transmission, 410 ratio, and appears to be in good shape. I would use this for...

    who makes the BEST dozer

Dresser I like Dresser, especially the TD-20Gs. They are smooth, powerful, and easy to maintain. They may not look as flashy as the other brands, but they can keep up with even the new dozers. They are also reasonably priced used, and as long as you take care of them, they'll take care of you.

I wish they made TD-20G's new. They are amazingly simple and easy to repair, all major components are modular and can be taken out separately. They have a very good Cummins L10 engine in them, which start great even in cold Iowa winter mornings. They don't have computers, or emission...
