    Deon, My 310c has 7000hrs. Don't yet have braking problems, Lobo technique shifting to netural is a good one, I have done that in the past, but not constantly.

    Deon, Changing the yoke and universal joints. Shaft is fine. Don't need to pump the brake pedal. The OM has instructions to adjust the break pedal.

    I have a JD 310c. The universal joint yoke (18 teeth) has alot of slop. I suspect the reason is not stoping before directional shifting. Waiting for new part to arrive. Universal joint were fine.

    Check with your dealer he will be able to tell you if it is welded or a two-part ridged epoxy. On my 310c the hydraulic reservor tank cover plate is epoxy from the factory...cracked, and now water is in the system.

    I was using the machine the day before for six hours clearing snow for an early start on a building lot. Tires are worn past 50%, Drive side more. I rember my 39 Chevy with bias ply tires thumping on cold winter mornings. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Will post findings...

    Deon thanks for the advice. I'll be checking the u-joints and drive shaft shortly. All four tires have tubes, Had a couple flats last summer know signs of water or rusting of rims. I have been to Nova Scotia beautfull country up there. Thanks agian. Hank

    Took my 310c backhoe down the road a short distance to do snow removal. While traveling in third and fourth gear. I noticed a vibration similar to a universal joint that was shot. Any help or advice would greatly appreciated. Hank

    If your not making $25.00 plus an hour it's slave wages. Look at what working on and the money your saving the company with a house mechanic. Your education may have been The College of Hard Knocks but it is worth somthing.
