Sorry to all those from madill who lost their jobs. Hopefully the economy up there is in such a way that other jobs are available. When I read through posts like these I get a bit down about the general attitude of our industry. Why are we fighting for the right to stay in the dark ages? Get...

After work, hobbies & life after the logs are loaded!

This is one of my past times. It's a 12 foot skiff. Off to Sydney, Australia in a couple of days to take on the aussies I'm also into my cars. Got a 79 GT Clumban mini and a st185 Toyota celica. During winter down here I play rugby for the local club which allows me to pretend I'm still young.

Fantastic Gord. I particularly like the truck driver one. We have a saying down here that if the driver can turn himself around then he can turn his truck around there too

The skids over the cab are for those. Minimum power wire height is 5m so not a problem for most machines on a transporter. That burger was owned by John Ray and is now with another masterton contractor

Spotted this ty80. Think it is the only one in nz. What is the spline on the end of the shaft for? Was it an option to have the strawline on the other side?

Thunderbird Yarders, Loaders, and Etc from the Murray's in Eugene Oregon

The 155 is a great little machine for both grapple and msp work. There are a couple of 155 machines down here doing so. The 155 is different to the 255 in that it is 2 way interlocked. With the 155 I would look at replacing the pull clutches for the Goodrich type oil bag clutch as the...

Deere 959K, hotsaw to processor. Feasable?

I hear you though it is not a bad solution. Plenty of guys down hear falling for tree length extraction with a processor. Advantage being you are not extracting branches so you can either pull more or do it faster. The delimbing does not have to be done at the other end either so the processor...

Cheers murk How do you find the kobalt valve compared to the rexroth valve? The system in our machine is based on the rexroth valve and it works ok. We are looking at going down the plc control route with a new cab. Lots of other updates as well as the paint. All the tower pins have been line...

Correct. Napier is at a guess our 3rd biggest export port. Tauranga is by far the biggest. The export market down here is good for the time being
