    Depends how worn your rollers but the usual answer is take the 3and 4 roller out and swap them with the end rollers. Bad Bob

    Looks to me like someone put on a new set of tracks on a wore out set of rollers. You can see where they ran the old tracks way too long. You will need new track rollers before too much longer. Bad Bob

    Just for fun could you post some pictures of your undercarriage especially the bushings and sprockets. Cat should have aftermarket undercarriage parts available. Its silly to waste money on tracks that may not make a couple hundred hours. Bad Bob

    Cat calls 0.034 gallons per hour normal motor oil usage. So that would be about 1 quart per day. So if you aren't leaking you have a problem. The list I gave you have all been simple causes for high oil consumption. Bad Bob

    CAT 988B works but won't move

    My suggestion would be call Cat and have them send someone out you has worked on these loaders. Does the parking brake release? Have you checked the transmission oil? No it don't have electric controls on the transmission, and the sensors are for the warning lites. Bad Bob

    My friend goes up I-5 once a midday week usually Tuesday from exit49 to 88 and his wife counts trucks going south. Usually around 300, last week over 500. So that's a lot of truck traffic in 45 minutes. Bad Bob
