Double grouser track pads on a dozer?

Back to my original question though, APART from these caron compactor tracks, has anyone seen standard double grouser tracks on dozers in any OTHER applications?

Double grouser track pads on a dozer?

In demo, long term preservation of the concrete slab is not generally important, and occasional performance on terrain, (such as debris and concrete piles) would still be needed. the overall environment would likely chew up rubber pads too quickly to justify the cost. I really have no...

Double grouser track pads on a dozer?

I know that dozers almost always have single grouser track pads, but has anyone ever seen an application where double grouser pads have been used on a dozer? I'm aware of Caron compactor's double/half grouser tracks for chopping up municipal waste and minimizing slab damage at transfer...

Craigslist Project (near Buffalo, NY) for anyone interested

I doubt it's an "ROPS" looks more like a simple canopy, I've seen a similar one on an old 977 at work on a farm.

what ever happened to Hippo rollers?

I finally found paper evidence of their existence! from May 1997 issue of Michigan Contractor and Builder: Apparently patented by "JB Development Inc, Holt MI, close to where I grew up which would explain why no one else had heard of them and why I had seen them all...

what ever happened to Hippo rollers?

Back in the mid 90's and early 2000's i was hard pressed to find a sewer project that lacked a Hippo vibratory compactor mounted on the back of a D5C or D37E dozer. Now I can't even find them in a google search. did the company fold, or were they replaced by something more effecient?

    The gym is open

Jeez, have fun on that one! environmental nightmare! there was around $1.5 mil in asbestos abatement work alone on that job, and with all the tweakers, about 5 Lb of copper on the entire site.

    Interesting Demolition Jobs

Wolf, this project is a Nuclear Reactor containment building, 208' tall, 140' across with 3' thick concrete all around. I cannot give out any details on the take-down method, as it's the first structure of it's kind that's been taken down, the process is secret. the demolition bucket...

How long do you think it will take

HAH!! good luck bud! We spent 3 weeks hammering with that size machine to complete what could have been done in 3 hours with our Volvo460B/Allied-Rammer 4511 hammer. in my opinion, unless you're preping a stack for blasting, or taking out curbs, a hammer belongs on nothing smaller than 45...

    Cool Demolition Jobs!

one other issue with our thumbs is that they are built and plumbed by Jewell...the controls are on the triggers, and do not operate smoothly, Jewell are pretty good fabricators, but they really need to hire a few more hydraulic engineers. (not to mention translators, so the shop labor can...

    Cool Demolition Jobs!

the loading principal with a grapple is more comprable to a front shovel, than a traditional excavator, you scoop with the back side, then clamp down with the top side (this is also why the back side of the grapple is larger, a lot of people question this from a visibility standpoint.)...

    Cool Demolition Jobs!

Sparffo, Well said, I do almost 100% heavy industrial demolition, where we have large sites, vast amounts of slab and roadway, and with a good loader operator, the trails are clear of tire catching debris. But I Do agree with you on tight quarters, and rough demolition terrain, and can...

    Cool Demolition Jobs!

Wolf, Sadly enough, the track loader is all but obsolete on a demo job. A wheel loader with solid/foam filled tires and a wide array of work tools will run circles around a track loader all day long, with a much more comfortable operator, and, higher speed, more productivity. not to...

    Equipment to start out...

I'm not trying to start a fight here, but in Demo, I've seen what properly equipped, nice equipment can do, especially when well maintained. my figures allowed for half a day downtime per week, and an easily accomplished ferrous scrap tonnage. and still have plenty left over for payroll...

    Equipment to start out...

Well, bid the right industrial jobs, and that Liebherr and volvo would more than pay for themselves in the first 6 months producing a mere 1400 tons a month! especially now, with the way prepared iron is trading! Eric

    It almost worked

though it's the first thing that people think of when they think demolition, Blasting is reserved as a last resort for most projects. if it is in any way feasible to do mechanically, it will be. blasting accounts for less than 1% of all demolition, especially since once the blasting is done...
