    Rain damaged pond in NZ

Thanks, good to be back. Yes it’s fairly sandy but their problem was they dug the trench for the leak detection to the uphill side of the pond where surface water pooled and probably not enough compaction when backfilling. They were pretty gutted to say the least! Never an easy job trying to...

    Rain damaged pond in NZ

We got called out to empty out the effluent/rain water that was in this new pond (3 days old!)that got damaged by heavy rain, they had 10” in 12 hours. Water found its way down to the leak detection pipe coming out from under the pond and just washed a whole lot of dirt in under the liner...

    D6H park brake

I had a similar problem on my D6H 4YF-00444. Park brake wouldn't always release and brakes were randomly coming on while driving, turned out to be the park brake linkage needing adjustment (wasn't quite opening the park brake valve properly), pressure tested the brakes while in there, all sweet now.

    Cat 613 torque converter.

Hi mkp613, I'm Pretty sure the serial # tag is down the bottom near the output shaft and suction screen. You can tell if it's an early one by the bearing on the front of the main shaft (under the round plate that the front trans mount is attached to), they had a single ball bearing and...

    EL300B service manual

Hi guys, I have an old Cat EL300B Sn# 3FJ00235 It's got issues with the valve bank, ones spool jammed up and someone's tried to change hoses around to get it going which has worked to a certain extent but slew and RH track are very sluggish. Anyway I have another valve bank that I want to...

    JCB 525-S Loadall seized engine.

More carnage! Gotta say it was a good effort to keep punishing it for that long

    JCB 525-S Loadall seized engine.

Just bought this Loadall for cheap for a bit of a side project. It's main problem is the "slightly" overheated and seized engine, other than that she looks a bit rough but has had all the pins and bushes done recently and has 80% tyres. Also the engine was rebuilt about 1500 hours ago so...

    Cat D6H cracked track frame.

So what you're saying nige is, cut your way in and weld your way out haha. Will be doing both sides as pivot shaft seals and I guess bushes need attention as well. Am also keeping an eye out for a second hand one for the right price.

    Cat D6H cracked track frame.

Thanks for all your help guys. CMARK has supplied me with said Cat repair procedure, makes for interesting reading and I'll be getting started on the repair when I get a chance. Was at the local Cat dealer the other day and out of interest asked how much for a new track frame, $20,000.00 plus...

    Cat D6H cracked track frame.

Hi guys, I was wondering what the best plan of attack would be to repair the cracked track frame on my 4YF D6H? I recently got the machine back and found the crack after giving it a well over due clean! Looks like someone's had a go at it before but it hasn't held. Look forward to your...
