Track-vision. I plan on installing one on my new t590.

    best size for septic

That was the thing I forgot to mention- we don't ever set a tank here either unless it's plastic.

    best size for septic

CAT 307C SB & CTL. I used to do septics with my TLB, but after having this hoe I don't ever want to go back- no more limitations on where I can pile the dirt. Most of the spots that I work in wouldn't allow for a 320 size machine. Another big plus- I've got the dozer blade on front so I can...

Advice for my first big job

When going up that steep hill, you could have the loader bucket full of dirt- front end will stay down then. I have had to do this when carrying large stumps and rocks with the rear bucket.

Reclaimed asphalt as gravel on driveway?

"take 2 five gallon buckets , fill one with wet millings, and one dry. Stomp on them till your feet bleed if you like and set them in the sun for a week of two. try to dig it out of the buckets, and note your results. Won't be any difference." Oh come on now- that doesn't sound even close to...

Reclaimed asphalt as gravel on driveway?

I also have to agree with not putting it directly on top of clay. You should have a good gravel base under it first.

Reclaimed asphalt as gravel on driveway?

I would have to argue about whether water works or not. I did half of my driveway with and half without- BIG difference. Material came from same pile (consecutive loads). I loaded, hauled, spread, graded, and packed it all myself. Can't get a more accurate test than that. The first time it...

Reclaimed asphalt as gravel on driveway?

I love it. If you walk on it when it's wet you may track in a bit, but you do that with gravel too. It has cut way down on how much sand gets brought into the garage from the wife's car. It's not like you're leaving black footprints behind you- some people think that's what it would be like...

Reclaimed asphalt as gravel on driveway?

I just rolled it with my truck. It took a cocktail or two to get it all but that's ok. You may want to go with two lifts if you want to place that much or you won't get compaction. I think paving companies don't even like going more than 3 inches or so when they want good compaction. Do it right...

Reclaimed asphalt as gravel on driveway?

spread it out smooth, wet it down, then pack it real good. it packs even better if you wet it first. as stated, do it on a nice hot day. great product for driveways- far better than gravel.

    Chamber type septic system

We don't put any rock under or cloth over. Here we have a max. bottom depth of 4'. We try to keep at least 1' of cover but the cold is more of an issue here too.

    Chamber type septic system

Gravelless pipe was a total failure here too. The only soil they ever worked in was clay. If they were installed in sand- certain disaster. I saw some of my competitors' drainfields fail after 1 year!

    Chamber type septic system

I have always done rock systems like lgammon started. I need to see this sled too- wanna understand how it works. Maybe I would be tempted to use rock more. There is a company here that has come up with some type of hanger thingy. They set them every 10' to carry the pipes. They are the correct...

    Chamber type septic system

I know- old thread alert. Maybe it's just me, I can't understand how installing chambers is more work than rock and pipe. It's the opposite for me. While I'm digging the trench, my ground man is checking with the laser as we go- making sure we are perfectly level. When I'm finished digging a...

    Home built small crushing plant

I'm with gr79. I think you've done a great job building this- real talent. But I lost count of the safety issues.

    DEERE 410D- how much?

I checked the parts on my own from deere. I added some labor on to the price of the oem parts to come up with $1000. Thanks for the replies so far. I'm pretty surprised what you have said- when looking at equipment sites I can't even touch a 2wd reg. stick for that money when they're 5 yrs...

    DEERE 410D- how much?

Hello everyone, A contractor in my area is looking to sell his 1992 410D. It has ext.hoe, 4x4, enclosed cab w/heat, 10000 hrs. Runs great, doesn't use any oil, some play in hoe but not real bad, tires @ 60-70%. It needs about $1000 in repairs to the transfer case as it sits. I have borrowed this...

    Deere vs Cat controls

When I used to run ISO the other didn't make any sense. Now that I run SAE I don't know why ISO ever seemed right. HAHA
