I went to the local auction today

I found 3 skidsteers at the auction today that interested me. Bobcat 753G This machine had only 205 hours on it. It looked extremely clean with no issues that I could see. It sold for $12500. Cat-226B 2007 hours. Clean but shows some age. This one didn't make reserve of $12000 so it didn't...

    Some Skidsteer Guidance Please...

I like the hill country of Texas. I go to Austin pretty often and have friends all around that area. I hope I enjoy my upcoming skidsteer purchase as well for as well as you have yours. Which skid did you have?

    Some Skidsteer Guidance Please...

I am still on the skidsteer hunt. I have decided on a skidsteer instead of a tractor because the front loader is so much easier to use. I also like operating the skidsteer better than a tractor. I don't want to rent but would rather own the machine. I don't plan to use it a lot but when I need...

    Some Skidsteer Guidance Please...

I would like some opinions on what skidsteer model or skidsteer size would best fit my situation. I am building a house on 10 acres that I keep mowed like a yard. I did all of the dirt work a few months ago and the construction of the house is going to kick off in the next couple of weeks. 1...

How do you keep a skidsteer from being stolen?

Good advice. I do plan to get insurance and also take every reasonable preventative measure so that I don't have to collect on it.

How do you keep a skidsteer from being stolen?

Why couldn't they steal it out of my driveway? Taking it home with me every day is not an option. It is going to have to stay out on the jobsite. There is a ditch around the house but it would still be some visible from the road. It can't be hidden completely by the surrounding terrain.

How do you keep a skidsteer from being stolen?

I checked on a container and an 18'x20' is $142 per month. I think this is the way I am going to go. Nothing appears to be full proof but in a container out of sight seems like pretty good security to me. I will lock the equipment and keep it in the container and I think it will be pretty safe...

    used skid sources?

Good info Tony. I know very little about skidsteers so I am flying blind. I am going to go look around the sites you mentioned. Thanks.

How do you keep a skidsteer from being stolen?

Thanks for for all of the posts. It is a shame that we all have to take such drastic measures just to try to keep what is ours. Here is my plan right now: 1. Security bar over the driver controls. 2. tire boot. Shouldn't that thing make it at least some difficult to try and winch it up on a...

How do you keep a skidsteer from being stolen?

I have 10 acres I am about to construct a house on and I would like to buy a skidsteer to keep on the job. I understand these things get stolen pretty often so how can I avoid that? What can I do to keep thieves from getting my machine? There are houses on either side of me and visibility is...

    used skid sources?

Is there any bluebook on skidsteers or other way of determining what an older model is worth?
