    1845C Hydraulic Pump:

May be nature of the beast but I have good pressure and plenty of hydraulic power with my skid steer. I've always thought the hydraulics were slow in the tractor however. It may just be me but newer skid steers have a cyclical rate much faster than mine. I'm wondering if it feasible to replace...

    Sweeper:

Wondering if a broom is the correct tool to use. The state road crews last fall graveled the shoulders out front of my shop. Between the highway and my parking area is a grass lined drainage ditch I mow keeping it like a lawn. With the snows of recent, this fresh gravel is all in the ditch a...

Stopped by truck parts vendor to pay a bill:

One of those necessary things that parts have to be paid for eventually. However when I got out of old "Krusty" I seen these on the area in front of me: Turns out they are new and two guys from the Morton parts distrubution facility use these to build displays of some kind. I don't know any...

Of all the crap to set you back:

The photo is of "Chump" which rides with me near everyplace I go in the truck. Just a little RV inverter generator that is quiet enough to talk over when running. Always good service over the past several years. Remote start from several yards distant and so convenient. As of recent had a...

Out for another tire stripping experience:

Nice: Only made it about 8 Miles distant so they're sending out the service truck with a air compressor and tire changing apparatus with them. Only thing I have in this truck, is a viable spare.

    Considerate:

Grand daughter took exception to me packing tire mounting lube around bead broken rim to get the sidewalls to seal out back of the shop last time. Didn't say nuthin to me but apparently did her momma. After hearing some banging on the front door from the FedEx man, I looked out seeing a box on...

Going to get the original type axle back under my air compressor:

Had these axle stubs machined by a friend in that business matching the original dimensions: Those are machined from C1018 low carbon steel and are 2" square solid. The original axle was 2.5" square solid and when I had a wheel end bearing go bad, it destroyed the axle end. At the time to get...

    Another high school chum deceased:

I typically read the obits in Springfield, IL where my young adult years were reared. Gone is another guy whom was a very good friend during the high school years. I've never been able to write for sh*t so took typing class where we met. Cancer, but I don't know anything more as haven't seen him...

Where does a Rogers Ground Bearing RGN neck wear at?

Going to look at one of these this next week and the seller states the neck is "loose" where it attaches to the trailer deck. No further explanation there as it's a widow selling the trailer and has no experience with it. I've asked for photos but haven't received yet. Not really familiar with...

    Victim of the Shipping Gorillas:

Replacement battery for my portable jump box, (JNC-770R) I've had and used for years. The original battery is failing quickly so ordered a replacement but not going to arrive as earlier predicated: They say another should arrive by Tuesday. No harm, nor foul with me although this gets used...

    D343TA engine:

I have one of these in my shop I need a purpose for. I removed if from an OshKosh P4 airfield crash truck that destroyed the transmission behind it. The airfield received a grant to replace the unit, so I inherited the engine. Nothing wrong with it at all except been on my shop floor since 2006...

Want to purchase a carbon pile:

What do you guys use for testing batteries? When working I had a Ferret and it worked very well but too feature rich to justify for my lonesome use. Largest batteries I see any longer are groups 8D, 4D, and 31. Of course automotive batteries also. I built a little load bank and can test for ah...

Anybody pull a mechanical detach trailer without air ride?

I look at youtube and such and everybody pulling one of these has an air ride tractor. I'm wondering if anyone uses a spring ride tractor for pulling one of these? Be interested in knowing how the detachment of the neck is done without the air suspension. I don't see it as a problem to engineer...

    7700 Hutchens Trailer Suspension:

Has anyone worked on this old series? My old tandem drop deck has this suspension with the two bolts/sleeves running through the rocker bushings which identifies the series of suspension. I have new front, and rear spring hangers along with new torque arms of both the rigid, and adjustable...

    2012 TR320 Case Skid Steer

Had one of these traded in yesterday in relatively good condition. All the gas struts that hold the door open, seat bar up, engine covers open are original and need replaced. I gather it's pretty much just been run with basic maintenance along the way. Tracks and u/c look better than a lot which...

Christmas tex message from youngest granddaughter:

Received this morning saying Merry Christmas Grandpa! I got a "boo boo".....

    Reverse Alarm:

On my 1845C the back up alarm is intermittent. I've metered out both of the pressure switches that close to initiate the alarm and they are both on the fritz. One of these is open constantly, the other closes intermittently. Never have went further than lifting wires and terminating meter leads...

    Trusty "Krusty":

Kind of scabbed the broken frame back together and brought the manlift back to the shop for a bit of upkeep. IIRC a little bit over 31K of weight and makes old "Krusty" look like he's squatting to ****. in that lift:

    End of year money:

Took these to a guy this morning and brought back his trades. All New Holland stuff and only a couple years old I'd delivered new then. The excavator is larger than the trade, but the skid steer is an equal:

    Cribbing:

How beneficial would it be, (or not) to easily crib up a tracked machine to run the undercarriage unloaded? I've been floating this idea around for a few months after cribbing mine up to both steam clean and lubricate moving parts after removing 40+ years of crud and buildup. It sure made...
