    Question for the machinists here...

Here's the dope from the factory. The Mercury has been discontinued, all the newer ones are DRO, if I remember right. And they have an easier to adjust belt and a 3/4 HP VS motor. As long as this hundred dollar wonder runs, I don't GAS whether it has alla the bells and whistles! Click on the...

    Question for the machinists here...

Thanks, Ed, was just looking to save about 3" in length, by putting a forstner but in a sleeve, and tightening direct to the tailstock. I know there's a way to do it, just don't know the lingo to describe it...

    Question for the machinists here...

QuoteEdit Bought a cute little wood lathe fer$100 at a yard sale, got most of the tooling, but among the missing is a nut and collet, that turns the inboard end of the tailstock into a holder for 1/2" shank drill bits. The tailstock is MT#2, and as best as I can measure it it's 25 MM (24.75...

Sure would be easier to just spot weld the item you're working on to a set of sacrificial jaws on a standard vice... Man sure has a lot more patience than I do!!!

Recommend me a good cell phone mount

Yeah, rubber coated balls helps out a lot on a dozer, specially on rocky ground. Problems start when you try to take the coating off, ootch eech!;)

Picked up a CL deal, today...

Don't know anything about the Dewalt side, but on the Ryobi, if you get a new bat, you need a new charger. Check out the HD site, its near father's day, gots lotsa specials on. I think if you buy 2 batteries, you get a free tool of your choice. If not, keep lookin, lotsa packages and...

    Homestead Machine Recommendations Needed

Also, a 2-way blade on a skidloader becomes a PAT blade when you figure in bucket curl and roll. Easy as a bulldozer, quicker turn arounds and lighter to haul...:D

Picked up a CL deal, today...

No Guesse$? Also in this batch was a 18 volt weed whacker, wimpy lil thing, uses .60 string, about 3-4' long, but I wasn't gonna refuse it. Tried it out, put it on the floor of the Altoz, when I mow the road frontage, cause I have 5 phone poles that never get trimmed around, figgered I'd give...

Got the wheels mounted, put them in the tailgate hinge pins! Figgered that's where the strongest metal was, plus I didn't have to drill any holes in the trailer... Trailer looks a lot like this...

    Tire question...

I think I got it figgered out, cheap. Gonna put 2 little 10" wheels, like from a mover's dolly, on the ass end of the trailer, sos they hit a inch lower than the back frame...;)

    Tire question...

Simple single drop axle, bolts to frame, I see where you are going, that's a lot of work, to shim it up right... Even the wider tires, might not clear the axle, its close right now. I might have to do some hilbilly engineering...

    Tire question...

Just picked up a little drop axle trailer, currently has a set of 11+year old 205 75 R15's on it. Drags ass end , going down a steep-ish hill, to where I park/store it. I think if I could get it an inch or 2 higher, dragging would stop. Here's my question, Does anybody make a 205 85 R15...
