    Need advice on 1st backhoe

710's are like my machine-BIG. 710's have a 6 banger-which is very cool. Is it 4x4? I have a NH LB115 4x4. It's huge, but work seems effortless to it, too. I think your 710 has even more rip out force than my 115. I like mine because it has 4 wheel steer and 4 huge tires. It just drives over...

    Cost of septic system

My home building & new construction business is shot for now. New construction is all but dead and I live in an area of wealth. I am taking smaller remodeling jobs I would have balked at just last year when I was busy. I'll never make that mistake again. My equipment is mostly sitting. I got...

    Pictures of your Backhoe!!!!!

Nice M. I like my M better owned by someone else. The build quality on my stunk.

    680 trans. question

I think a 6-banger in a backhoe is really cool.

Got my first, JD 510D Backhoe

 Ummm, you get a grease gun and hook the tip on every grease fitting you can find. You then pump the grease until you see new grease come out of the joint, bearing, etc. you're trying to grease......

    Rookie Question

Really? I tried to buy an L but couldn't find one with doors that weren't rusted through the sheetmetal. Yeah, I think the M seemed to be a little doggy for a 90+ HP backhoe too, but don't have enough L seat time to make a good comparison. All the L guys around here love the L engine.

Like the snoopy? I love IH farm tractors. I think they were some of the best ever built, but thought the snoopy's were really ugly.

    Stay or go

Don't try to sell now unless it's to someone you know who won't jerk you around and it's absolutely necessary. You won't get jack for used equipment right now. I'm buying everything I always wanted for 50 c on the dollar that I can afford in preparation of a turnaround.....whenever that comes...

    Rookie Question

Especially if you like rust. Nothing rusts faster than a 580L. Doors are usually gone in 5 years. Floors won't last much longer. M doors & cab will still look good after 10. My M paint job was junk, too. I could have painted my M better than Case did with a roller and a bucket...

Why yes, that is a snoopy. There a lot of them still out there.

    Rookie Question

Gggraham really nailed the tech stuff. From a former owner's perspective, the M is ergonomically nicer than the L. The doors are a big upgrade in that they don't rust like the L doors. Correct me if I'm wrong, but my M came with an Iveco design engine and the L's had the venerable Cummins...

    Blast From The Past

My old man told me local excavators back in the 1950's used to have something resembling a backhoe mounted to a deuce and a half army truck.

When I went to sell my CASE, I thought I was in for a long wait to sell it. Luckily, a paving company was looking for a laoded-up Case 580 and I sold it for only $500 off my asking price. There's 2 LB 115's for sale in PA about 100 miles from me. One is a former township machine. Looks...

    TEREX backhoes

I would say the LB115 is better with all buckets. It seems to eminate from the size/weight/stability of the stabilizers and the machine's greater power. It handles a 3' bucket easily. I only rented a 590. It has more azz (100+ HP) and wider stabilizers than a 580M. A 590 is a nice bigger...

It's going great! Awesome machine. Big, poweful and amazing stability. Load the 1.8yd loader bucket up all you want raise it up high and dump into a dumptruck, no bounce or pucker moments. Powerful-108HP what else is there to say? :notworthy Cab is very advanced-lots of controls, gauges...

    '97 New Holland Powershift

It's funny you dug up this old thread of mine to get your 3 posts in. Since this thread I bought an LB 115. I really like it and oh, by the way, the powershift transmission is a Dana/Spicer.

    Hand held hydraulic hammer circuit

I'm just starting to install the rear hammer lines down to the end of my dipperstick. Looks like a slam dunk easy job and I'll be able to run a big demo hammer. Next, I'd like to look into installing a hydraulic circuit on the side of my machine to run a hydraulic hammer. The wiring is in...
