    Globe Lowboys (HGN)

I had a 50 ton and broke it in the transition area. The "10 year frame Warranty" they advertise is worth about as much as the paper it is written on. Mine was a 06' model I think and the heaviest thing I ever put on it was a 330 Cat. I think they have improved alot but they definatly had room...

    Transmissions?

I pull a lowboy. RTLO 20918B and a airshift 1241 behind it. I keep a spare 1241 around to go in in a hurry cause mine boils its oil ALOT. I'm getting quick at changing it out now. LOL The middle number ins the 18spd is it's design series number. For example, A 18718 is a roller bearing...

    Tree pushers.

We have them on our D6Ds . We use a square kelley bar from a drilling rig to build them out of. They stick out from the top of the blade about 4 feet and go all the way across the front. We build boxes out of one inch thisck plate on the top outside edges of our blades to put them into. We've...

    Cat D9H or a Hightrack D8L or D9L

If I move one very far, i pull the rops over the cab, the blade, and the ripper tooth. Sometimes the exhaust stack too. If it is a local move with no bridges to go under, i leave it together and just say a prayer. The D8L stays together comepletly.

    Cat D9H or a Hightrack D8L or D9L

I just move a D9L for Smith Construction from up by Gowen, OK. We moved it 9 miles and I charged them $1250. They were tickled to get it done for that. A D8L woulda been $1000 or less. It looked like a Mountain comming down the road acording to my dad/escort.

    Cat D9H or a Hightrack D8L or D9L

A D9L is ALOT harder to move from site to site than a D8L. That translates into WAY more expensive. The D8L is probably actually easier to move than the D9H too actually. The D8L is a helluva machine. It is a D8 that thinks it is a 9. Also, it has a much more serviceable engine, and non of the...

Globe 50 ton ground bearing question

Globe really doesn't keep info like that. They never did on the Globe trailer I had and broke anyway. You might try calling Witzco because the trailers they built then were for all intents and purposes a Witzco. The best Chance though is to just grab your tapemeasure and go measure it. Look on...

    D7e

I have an idea he doesn't have a clue what end the blade is on as nobody has told him. The thing about Obama that is so unfortunate is that he is just a product of unfortunate educating. He only knows what somebody tells him with no ability to think for himself. My senator, a R from Oklahoma who...

    Your Lowboy Pictures Wanted

Actually Fire and Iron, Justin prolly does know the weights of more trailers than anyone else as he has owned more of them than anyone else. I'd say 1 or 2 percent of all of them on the road he has "had hands on". He sells more trailers for the lowboy market than just about anyone in the US I...

    Winch Line pull maximum

I've done alot of pull work with my D6D and winch. We just push down with the blade and lock the brakes. When enough dirt piles up behind you, the load will move. I've had dirt stacked up over the fuel tank while winching before. I always use atleast one snatch block though, and sometimes...

D3 or D4 for Digging Lake

Hey CGFreeland, You need to call Jackie Bean. (580)795-7719. He can take care of you on the D7E parts. If he doesn't have one, he will let you know where to find what you need. Great guy to deal with on these older tractors. Btw, those big 4 cylinders had a timed oilpump if I remember...

    Covering Exhaust During transtit

I'll cover them if I know I'm gonna get in rain on the trip. I just don't like the soot residue blowing everywhere. Otherwise i would rather leave them opem as I usually forget to take the tape off before trying to start the engine. Like Deere said, I't ismainly if the customer asks forme...

    cattle driving info please

I'd use nothing but a pete with air leaf, low air leaf or air trac rear suspension to pull a bull wagon. (I know from experience.) These suspensions are the most stable on the road. and I would only pull a air ride trailer. I say this because they are MUCH more stable than spring, flex-air or a...

Pretty good lookin binder, I sorta always wondered why they weren't more popular though. How are you gonna lower your front end Prenn? You gonna pull spring leaves and air ride it or just shorter blocks?
