Can anyone tell me if a 310SK backhoe has a selector valve so that either ISO or SAE excavator patterns can be used? Is there a way to look that up online with the serial number? Thanks!

It was sold new 8/17/01 and had a new engine about 2000 hours ago. Bucket pins/bushes are beat but Ive replaced them before on my other machines so no...

Cracked cylinder head..... Lotsa hours on the machine(3000)....Just time to trade I think. I fully realize the size difference as its about 2 tons and a bit wider too. I do a lot of water and sewer and it would sure be nice to have the ZHS model as I am usually right up against a house or...

right size of excavator for septic tank replacement

Hendrik is right.... Get a pro. I install systems on a regular basis......Here's what I would do. Get tank pumped then lift lid off and fill tank with sand, plumb straight through the tank (you may have to break out part off the baffle to do this). Put lid back on. Now install new tank... Tank...

Found another one that needed a home....

Paystar.... Owner said it was a 400 horse Cummins. The line ticket that was in the cab said 350 Formula Cummins. Smoke rolls out pretty good if you get right after it so my guess is that it has been turned up a bit.... Havent had a chance to haul anything yet so I just cant say how it does...

Found another one that needed a home....

Thanks for the confirmation on being a 9300.... I'm really impressed with how clean and well maintained it seems to be. Havent been able to find anything that doesnt work yet.... Be nice to hook up to my trailer and pull the D6C or Cat 225 excavator and see how it does. It certainly has longer...

    water line

dayexco brings up a very valid point.... I bashed PVC while actually it is the process of installation that should get the bad rap.... The leaks I see are usually at joints that undoubtedly werent properly prepared... Like he said, smear a little glue and stab it in..... It just doesnt work that...

    water line

Use a good quality poly pipe. At least 160 PSI. I wont install anything less than that. Most of the water leaks I get called to repair are on PVC. Considering that there is possibly about 10 times the amonut of poly in the ground than there is PVC (in this area anyway) that doesnt speak to well...

    Weight of asphalt?

Ok.... I should not have tried converting that to square feet.... I blew it. My bad.... 1 Sq Yd measuring 2'' thick should weigh in about 240#.... 1 (Sq Yd) = .06 ton per inch of thickness.... 120# per Sq Yd 2'' thick would weigh in at about 240# /Square yard 3''...
