    American Loggers DVD

Well thanks KW! I'll have to pass that on to Rudy and Eldon.....the tri-dem is the only truck with the 625Cat motor that is holding together. However turning that beast is another story.....lets just say she likes to go straight lol. We have another truck, "Bigfoot" that is strictly off-road...

Yellow and black....is that for Irving? Where are you guys working right now? I'm scattered all over the place, from up by John's Bridge all the way down to Big Eddy on the West Branch Penobscot River. Oh yes chum she's a totally different ball game up here in the woods. Some days she's good...

What sort off machine do you operate?

No, not one of the brothers, just an operator. New episodes air Feb 19 on Discovery. We have slowed down a bit but still harvesting quite a bit of wood. Right now is go time and it sure is busy keeping all the roads plowed, sanded, scar fired, and opening up winter roads that have not been...

    American Loggers DVD

Sorry I have not written back to you, things are hectic up here right now. Working 18-20 hrs a day lately trying to keep the road in good shape. We got some warm weather and had to shut down the roads for 3 days and I was non-stop on the grader. Yes they are still up here filming, they will...

    Full-time VHP on a 140G; Possible?

Hello all. I run a 140G grader for Pelletier Inc (American Loggers on Discovery) and when plowing snow, I find that 3rd gear doesn't throw the snow off the wing, it just pushes it into a big bank. However, when I put it in 4th, that little bit of extra speed does help throw the snow. But the...

    Cat controls or Jonh deere

It doesnt matter to me. I can run both. I'm used to running crane (logs) which the main boom is on the left, stick on the right. My Cat 320 is opposite. But once I jump into the machine, either crane or hoe, i don't get confused. Weird, but it worksfor me.

    Cutting Edge Question

We run Sandvik's S35 cutting tool and Sandvik tungsten carbide teeth year round on my 140G. The logging roads up here were built out of shale, and these teeth help "grind" them up finer. Also, when the calcium is put down to reduce dust, it hardens the road like concrete. These teeth really help...

    Plowing with a JD 772

Go up in the County here in Maine and its like that in the potato fields that run beside the road. Seems to work ok, until those voids fill with snow. Then its in the road.

    cold weather questions

I don't know where you're at, and how cold it gets there, but this is my winterizing procedure for Pelletiers up here in the North Maine Woods. :Cut your fuel 50% diesel, 50% kero. Change fuel filters out for new ones, wrap them with reflective insulation, as well as the lines. I've had them...

    The dfeinition of stuck

Seriously, what the heck are 2 shovels doing out in a bog like that? No way would I take my hoe out into an area like that, even with mats. I've been in some boggy areas with my machine, but its in the winter when the ground is froze, and trees need to be harvested. When the ground thaws, we...

What sort off machine do you operate?

I run a Cat 320C, Cat 320LL Forestry cab, and Cat 140G grader for Pelletier Inc (American Loggers on Discovery). Love my job and wouldn't trade it for anything, even being out here 62 miles in the woods.

    Volvos New Machine

Where abouts are you from DirectTech? Reason why I ask is because I saw the Chadwick BaRoss sticker and your propane tank is from RH Foster, both companies right here in Maine.

    Railway beds

Frost hasn't settled in Labrador yet? It sure has here, hell I was plowing snow with it Monday and Tuesday. It would be kinda hard to grade with frozen ground, especially that crushed rock the use on the railbeds here.

What the heck happened to American Loggers?

New episodes air January 2010. They are still up here filming and will be for another 2 years, so that is at least 2 more seasons to come.
