    Valuation of an Excavation Business

I did a fair amount of combing the forum looking for multiples of revenue, profit, or whatever used to determine the value of an excavation business. I have been on the internet and most of that is consultants wanting you to pay them to figure it out. I don't mind paying for that but I am not...

Mack E7-460 engine w/leaking head gskt. Risky purchase???

I have got 2 macks, both with E7s. My 99 is a 400hp and it has a gate valve that leaks which looks like a head gasket leak. Mine is on the driver's side near the firewall. I agree with Mitch that yours should be a ETECH VMAC 2 or 3. The AIs and ACs didn't start till 2004(???). Be prepared...

got a vibration that starts at 35mph

Got a new to me 05 Mack Granite with a 460 hp E7, 18 spd Eaton, and 44000lb rear axles with camelback suspension. Also has the large floaters on the front. Got a vibration that starts at about 35 mph and gets a little better around 60. Any idea where to start? Thanks for your time.

    Mack ch613 opinion

I have 2 Mack dump trucks. 99 RD 690 S with a 400 ETECH and an 05 Granite with a 460 AI and an 18 sp. I just got the 05 but I took it straight to Antrim Diesel for some performance upgrades. I think without power upgrades you are going to very disapointed with the power. Supposedly Antrim...

pictures of double frame rust. should I buy the truck or not

Take a look at the picture of the frame rust on an 05 Mack. I did not buy the truck based on the rust. Do you guys think I overreacted. The rest of the truck was nice although I noticed some replacement of parts that I have never replaced on my 99 Mack. Thanks for your time.

Is a 13000 lb front axle a problem for a dumptruck

Supposedly a change of tires can increase the "rating" of the front axle. Do any of you know if this is true and if so how much will the right tire size increase the rating of the front axle? Thanks for your time.

Is a 13000 lb front axle a problem for a dumptruck

Looking at an 08 Mack Pinnacle that was a former oil field winch truck now converted to a dump truck. It has 44000 lb rears with a lift axle (3 axles total in the rear). Double frame, heavy spec truck. My question is the 13000 lb front axle a problem for a dump truck? Under certain loaded...

    Tilt bed experiences

I have a felling tilt deck. I like it but I have bent an axle and had to reweld the the tilt cylinder to the frame. The bent axle is not the trailer's fault but I still maybe wish the trailer was a little more robust. I probably should have a bought a 7 ton instead of a 6 ton as I am...

    Deere 650j or 700j

I had a 650G, now have a 650H. I have some hours on a 700H. The 700 is a lot more machine. Dont expect a 650 to blow threw a tandem load of dirt like a 700 will. I would probably prefer the 700 but I bet it is roughly worth $50,000 more than a 650 all things being equal. Because of that and...
