    Update discovered there is an internal trans cooler in radiator. Left radiator cap slightly loose to build no pressure, ran about 1.5 hour no water on shutdown in trans oil. Will recheck on startup when cold then put cap on tight to see of it starts leaking internally with more pressure.

    Check your transmission pump pressure. A friend had a very similar issue. Ended up having to change transmission pump. He told me the pump would not build enough pressure and the bypass would stay open and create excess heat.

    I used to use gasoline first then a degreaser in my old d3 with dry clutches years ago. Drilling a hole and installing a cotter pin works quite well by the way.
