955L Will Not Turn Over / Replacing Flywheel

The flywheel ring gear is a replaceable item that costs just a few coins, it will bash off or can be drilled and split, the new ring gear will need heating up to drop on.

    D6T Transmission Issues

Is it time to ask about the Brake pressure, asking for a friend.

    D6T Transmission Issues

with D6R and T series Tractors the fast way to find out if you have a rebuild on your hands is to remove the square plate held in place by 4 bolts near the bottom of the back case between the drawbar mounting, behind the plate is a cylindrical screen that loves to catch clutch plate failings...

    955L identification help

The over heat will be caused by the oil coolers water side being pegged up with crud by the way you are seeing the heat build up, get an Oil Cooler gasket kit then strip and clean the water tubes.

    Komatsu D65e-6 steering prime/leak

The pump was a gift at that price, you might want to adjust your Brake Bands now you are back working.

    Cat D6C ID

All the badges plates etc can all be bluffed, you cannot beat pictures to make a correct I.D. of an engine, the 333C looks near identical to the 3306, but the difference is there to be seen if you know what you are looking at, this is common to see on Forums where people scream out it's a 3306...

    Cat D6C ID

The Shovel looks to be a 977H? the D6C I would hardly think it was ever Agg spec' as a powershift would be lacking the speed range needed for Farm cultivation and is not built for this work, anyhow the 10K Series D6 was built from 1967 to 1976 as a 140 bhp Tractor, the engine would be a 333C...

    D6C final drive leak

Leaks from the back seal group is usually heading 1 way, but you could pop off the front plate and check that things have been getting greased, as a lack of it can snap off the pins holding the dead shaft nut lock plate, this will undo the nut allowing movement within the taper roller bearings...

977L Transmission Piston Ring End Gap

Put the ring gaps in the top position of the housing's when you build the transmission up, it helps vent air as the oil fills making for a better job, I thought you could buy over size rings Non O.E. a run around with a flap wheel can soon ease things, I hardly get to work on Flat Drive D6 's...

    Looking at a 955k

I think I covered all points with the Life might be worth bit, a lot of Farmers are fairly able with a Welder and know what a Barn looks like, the ROPS is like a Barn but smaller, it was not law to have a ROPS at that point in time but might very well be chosen by the owner, myself I cannot...

    Looking at a 955k

You could always build a ROPS frame on the Farm if it makes you feel happy, it's easy to over build it to the strength you think your life might be worth, or run it as it stands it's not a deal breaker in my mind.

    Looking at a 955k

The Tracks look to be in strong condition and are SALT chains (the best) the Final Drive is showing a sweat mark but it could have been stood some time, I would be very happy to buy the Shovel for the $$$ asked, they don't take long to pay back that sort of spend out, it looks handy enough for...

Nh 220 injector push rod trevel distance

As Simon C has quoted the injectors are set down in Inch Pounds off the ABC marks on the side pulley, check your C.P.L. plate for the settings that is on the front gear chest nearside, also always check the valve springs as its not uncommon to see a few broken, don't use the Truck engine service...

    955L Alternator Wiring

The Alternator looks nothing like I have seen before but as a way of exciting it just below the bottom of the injector pump towards the gear chest is a plug you can remove from the oil gallery and fit in a 2 wire oil pressure switch with a live feed to it so with engine stopped the feed off it...

    Cat d6c final drive leak

You have a loose Dead Shaft as nobody would install one in the wrong set position, press on and see what you find.

    D4D with a Shot Undercarriage

The Track chains look to be SALT assembly's and to be fare look worn but will still rattle on for a few 1'000 hrs, so put it to work and see how things go, a few driving tips to help you, slowly pull the main clutch towards you when you set off and as it starts to move pull it over center to...

    D6T Transmission Fault When Calibrating

You will need a little mirror on a stem and a tippex pen to set the sensor on the correct tooth contact space, the spec' is half a turn up from the tooth, I tend to go a bit higher to near 3/4 of a turn up off the tooth and lock them in place, be very careful of falling dirt as the sensor area...

    Hems track pin press

No money to be made these days with a Track Pin Press, I have 3 sets and find only a few jobs per year needing a pin push, it's not worth pressing a pin out as they are always worn so I cut the old pin free and press in the new one, if its to sort a damaged link you are still cutting the old...

CAT 951C landlord wants it gone

Another easy way of telling the pedigree is to look on the tilt cylinder for the type of return to level control used, if its a round bar a foot or so long that goes through a plate with the control valve in it's a C Series, if it's a Trombone type rod in a tube thing it's a B Series, also the...
