In need of ac compressor bracket 3306 cat

Entirely possible? One thing about that one is it shows driving off the crank pulley. On mine i have only two groves on the crank pulley. Those two drive the fan hub. The alternater is driven off of one of the four groves on the fan hub. The only grove i have left is the very front groove...

    3306B cylinder head water directors

Thanks so much for that information and confirmation. In an unrelated question why did they change the 8n4183 seals for the injectors from metal to nylon? I just dont know that I can trust the nylon ones. I dont see how theybare going to hold up to all that compression. What am i missing...

    3306B cylinder head water directors

I am well into this build and while looking at the parts book I see mention of water directors in the head. I already have this head on but do not remember seeing directors in the head. I also see mention online that the DI heads no longer require water directors. Is this correct and does...

Pretty sure he said its a ddec2. It wont have a mechanical governor and all that is set in the ecm. Also no rack to run. Just valves and injector height.

    3306B injection pump drive gear

I have the injection pump installed. The bolt in the flywheel through the back of the bellhousing and the pin in the injection pump as per the manual. It then says to use the 6V6176 tool on the weight assembly. I cannot find this tool anywhere on the internet. Looking at the picture of it...

    3306 rear seal installation.

It is the one piece seal. Thats pretty much the procedure I was thinking of using. Im assuming green loctite?

    3306 rear seal installation.

Hey I am about ready to install the rear main seal and the front seal on a 3306 cat. Do you guys use any loctite, sealant or lube on the wear sleeve when its installed? I did buy the appropriate tools.

    Caterpillar torque plus

I agree with this and at this point im not willing to take a chance on them. Cat bolts are pretty expensive. I can get aftermarket for about 1/4th the cost. Are they worth it or just bite the bullet and get genuine cat? The aftermarket ones are CTP brand.

    Caterpillar torque plus

I checked and cat want around $22 per bolt! Ouch. Still like you say cheaper than a hole in the block. The hole thing has me worried and i am going to order new ones today. I like your idea of using the old ones to do an intial set. Then probaly replace them with new one at a time.

    Caterpillar torque plus

Reason I ask is i had a couple that just didnt feel right. I checked with my torque wrench and found they were not equal on the torque. Had one the second nut seemed way to easy and it was not equall in torque. Anyhow i backed it off and started over. Second time it felt like they pulled...

    Caterpillar torque plus

The cat book says for rods to torque to 30 ft lbs and then turn another 90°. Is there any literature anywhere that has just a straight torque wrench method ? Just seems like an odd way to do rods and mains.

    3306 liner protrusion measuring issues

Just about ready to do the final install. Had to build a liner install tool. I did switch the number one and two back. I dont like the idea of number two being a tad higher than one. I will be glad to get this done and move on to getting pistons and rods in.

    3306 liner protrusion measuring issues

Im just old school that way! Specs say .0013 to .0069. I think its a bit shy also but it is in spec. Like truck shop says a thinner spacer is about my only option. I did swap #1 and number 2 with not much change

    3306 liner protrusion measuring issues

I was going to do that also. I want to measure the spacer plate as well. One thing I find odd is how much difference there is in each single liner measurement. Id like to know if thats because of uneven liner flange or if the spacer plate is the cause. Costex parts is suppoed to be really...

    3306 liner protrusion measuring issues

I kinda was thinking that myself. Mainly was curious how they would measure out if they was swapped. Other than that you dont see any issues?

    3306 liner protrusion measuring issues

Got some time today to take all my liner height measurements. Far as I can tell I should be in spec? The block has been decked, liners are new costex parts, and number 6 cyl does have a counterbore cut with shim. Why only the one its a long story. Attached is a pic of my results on the work...
