Eaton doesn’t range shift to high

Back to this truck. I installed a new air module, still won't shift properly. I removed the shift bar housing and checked all the range cylinder parts and don't find a problem. Any advise for a dabbler before I remove the auxiliary section in the truck?

Solar battery tender or trickle charger recommendations?

I have 2 generic units I bought from Amazon on 1 loader. 24V system, so I bought 2 12V units. Don't know the wattage but they are slightly smaller than the 8d batteries they keep charged. Going on 3 years now with the solar chargers, 6 years on the batteries.

Running a mulcher head on a compact wheel loader

It takes a lot of horsepower, diesel, and money to beat trees into toothpicks. Have you thought about a tree saw, then pile and burn?

    power hood opener

It might be to expensive solution, but there are 12v actuators with revolvers for position built in. A box to read the positions and keep the actuators timed wouldn't be a big deal (to an electronic herder)

    Deere electrical plugs

And don't even start on the plug latches that you can't see and haven't used before. And then you aren't sure if you are trying to release the latch incorrectly or if it's just packed with dirt.

    Deere electrical plugs

I make a trip to the local deere ag dealer. They have a large cabinet with lots of the specialty connectors. (or at least they did before the latest buyout). Otherwise its electronics places like mouser or digikey or newark. But there you really need to know the correct description.

Remote pump for diesel transfer tank

The 1" npt for the standpipe works fine for a hose. Weld a 1" bung in the bottom of the tank and put the pump on the end of the tank. Connect with hose.

Working on a tree Grapple for either a skid steer or loader. Looking for ideas. Maybe for a TL150 or a Cat 953.

No. It takes carbon to allow steel to be hardened. The presence of sufficient carbon to allow hardening greatly complicates welding. There are special welding rods that would allow heat treating, but 7018 is not in that category. Spend some money and buy the pin material you need (if you...

Working on a tree Grapple for either a skid steer or loader. Looking for ideas. Maybe for a TL150 or a Cat 953.

I'm not doubting your ability to repair the pin, but the utility is very poor. I'm guessing you used a standard carbon steel tube to make the repair bushings for your rod eyes. Then you use a 7018 rod to repair the pin. When you put two very similar materials together, both clean, and then...

    Cat 3406C

Prolly not split dowel if oil pressurized, but I don't recall. Standard roll pin is hard as woodpecker lips so tap is difficult. If hard, I'd anneal with acetylene torch. Don't know your skills or tools. If it wouldn't tap I'd likely weld a handle on it and pull with a slide hammer or welded...

Its good you have a lathe and are learning to use it. But welding up the worn area on such a small pin and turning it round is a poor usage of your time and will result in a poor quality pin. Old hydraulic cylinder shafts make good pins if they are induction hardened and chrome plated (IHCP)...

    RBX bankruptcy, Paccar downtime

Mine are also my best recollections as well of conversations that took place 30-40 years ago, when I have problems remembering what my wife asked me to do today. We were talking to people who had felt different parts of the elephant.
