CAT 262d doesn’t move in any dieection

That is correct. For the implement system yes, for the drive system no. There is a park brake solenoid hanging off the hydrostatic pump. That's it pretty much. If the park brake releases (light goes out) those systems are working correctly. Any other problems are determined by what codes are...

299D DTC Codes / Engine Problems

So you've replaced multiple speed sensors, the engine wiring harness and the engine itself. Basic wiring checks are in order again. I'd be looking to temporarily replace the ECM also.

Wacker Neuson 3503 Boom Drop/limited fine control on boom cylinder.

The above suggests the pilot system/joysticks and boom cylinder are operating correctly. So with the boom raised off the ground and no joystick commands, the boom holds ok? That would rule out a line relief and boom drift reduction valve. Edit: the way they usually fail anyway. I'd be looking...

Wacker Neuson 3503 Boom Drop/limited fine control on boom cylinder.

I was thinking along the lines of joystick too. Does it have a diverter valve to change the control pattern? If so switch it over. That'll swap the joystick that controls the boom to the other side.

2685-8 left drive motor speed sensor

It depends how wide the tracks are. With narrow tracks they're fairly accessible with machine on the ground. Wide tracks (where you can't get your arm in between the machine frame and the track) you have two options: slide the undercarriage out a few inches or get to it from underneath. I find...

2685-8 left drive motor speed sensor

I think the disconnecting the battery bit was a bit of misinformation from me. If the problem is fixed and the speed sensors are reading correctly, the codes clear (go from active to logged) usually as you're driving it out of the shed.

    299D XHP drive motor sensor

@Nige may help out with that. I reckon there's only one ECM bolted to the underside of the cab. That'll be your machine ECM, the one that you want to test the 8v circuit on. Once you have the schematic it'll all make sense.

    299D XHP drive motor sensor

Do you have a schematic? There will be at least three harness sections between ECM and drive motor speed sensors. I wouldn't throw parts at it just yet. Find out what your 8v sensor supply/return is doing first.

    299D XHP drive motor sensor

Ok. Next question, are all three codes becoming active all at the same time? I would expect 2688-8 to be amongst those codes too, is it? I'd be very keen to know what the 8v power supply and return is doing when they become active. You can spoon into both of them at the ECM. They should run at...

    299D XHP drive motor sensor

Depending on exactly what codes are logging, could be a hundred reasons. What codes are you getting? Any performance/low power concerns? Is there a delay on one track when shifting from low speed to high speed? Is is stuck in high speed? Does it even have high speed? A s/n would also help.

    Cat 349 aftreatment issues

Thanks for the update. Good result, hope it stays that way.

Cat TL1055C won't start unless hydraulics are used

Learn something every day. I had no idea this information was public.

    Cat 304

Same goes down here. Machine wouldn't pass a basic risk assessment required on any construction site without A/C. I won't know either unfortunately. That machine is an ISJ (Inside Japan) machine, aka Grey Market machine, meaning it was built for the Japanese market and never intended for...

    Cat 304

Doesn't sound right to me. Throw a serial number at us and we can check how it left the factory. Those E-series A/C units didn't have great air filtration. When set to suck the air from outside the cab I don't think it has a filter at all. Evaporator usually blocks up with crud, heater taps...

    277C Hydraulics bogging engine

That's basically it. And that 350 psi is what they call margin pressure. It's controlled by the margin spool in the pump control valve and set/adjusted by changing the margin spool spring compression. Margin pressure in most cases (and in yours) needs to be checked or adjusted while an...

    Cat 349 aftreatment issues

If you end up getting a dealer out to do the software, insist they bring an aftertreatment ECM with them and say you'll happily pay the credit fees if it's not needed.
  17. C

    Cat 349 aftreatment issues

Is that because the Aftertreatment ECM internal battery is kaput? I'm already suspecting an issue with software and/or the aftertreatment ECM. How confident are you there's no boost leaks? Are there any new associated codes?

    277C Hydraulics bogging engine

During the bogging event, what happens if you move another machine function... does the load sense pressure come back up and bogging corrects itself? That's basically doing the same test as you describe above but using another circuits load sense signal. Can you get to the load sense relief...

    277C Hydraulics bogging engine

So during the bogging event with no operator input, you have 300 psi signal pressure and a pump at max displacement. For me that pump is doing what it should be doing. Anyone disagree?

    CAT 289D3

Welcome Iban. I reckon all that info is in the Operation & Maintenance Manual. Do you have one behind your seat?
