What is notable is a Gr8 will snap before a Gr5, those will distort first then break. Would step up to Flanged Head Frame Bolts and Nuts(Fine Thread), Increase Diameter from what appears a 5/8"? to a full 3/4"., if were only 1/2" then go to 5/8", build a stouter bracket for the bumper more like a Crossmember then can REALLY tear some Sh!t up!!

Most truck bumper attachments are pretty underwhelming, which is kinda nice when they need to come off for major service work bad when cabled up to a piece of dirt equipment.

You won't believe it but the caliper measures those bolts at 15/32 across the thread. Absolutely insane that is what they used to mount that with and a skinny 5/16s thick bracket. It should be 3/4 inch bolts as stated above just like what is used to hold the hitch into the center of the bumper. Kenworth will be hearing from me Monday morning for sure

Yeah I fixed a bumper on a truck a little while back that goes off road and tugged on with loaders and graders a lot, had a mix of 10.9 and G8 bolts that were snapping, we straightened up the brackets and reamed the holes for 3/4" G5.

My bumper hitch plate I custom built and I thought I under built for my straight truck with my camper on it has beefier bolts than that and thicker plate by double . Guess I need to put it on my semi since it has no rear bumper hitch.
Nice rig btw, it looks like it can take a beating except that part :p

My experience with washers used with frame bolts is-- it doesn't work. It just adds two more places to slip. Why manufactures went back to that
had to be cost cutting-my guess. I only use course thread flange bolts with stover flange nuts. There spendy but way less trouble.
