Truck pto driven side manure spreader

Thinking about mounting our martin side slinger manure spreader on a truck for some hayfields too far for a tractor. Was wondering the best/easiest way to go about powering the pto shaft on the spreader. Also need to have hydraulics to open the door to let the manure out to spread. Saw a pto drive motor on surpluscenter.com that looks like a simple setup but not sure how to match to the pump on the truck. The truck has a dump pump on it now.

Maybe 50hp but we use 100hp tractor for the weight when loaded

Dump pump with a shaft or direct mount?

The hydraulic pump on your spreader may have a tag on it. How many gpm is it. Or call the mfg and ask. Get a direct mount pump for your pto with that rating or more at operating rpm.
You can slow it down with a flow control valve. Be sure you have a relief valve in the system.
Also need to know the speed of your pto at operating rpm in order to get the correct pump.

Does the spreader have a 540 or 1000 PTO? The pressure required for 50hp is considerably higher than that motor is rated for.

Personally I'd consider trying to go direct drive with chains and a jack shaft to get the speeds right. Eliminates the cost and maintenance of hydraulics. Or take off the whole PTO shaft and use a shaft coupling to mount a generic hydraulic motor that can take the pressure, less things to grease and break. Really depends on what is going on under the shields and what pump you already have on the truck. ISZ
