I had a Super Duty dump way back in the day. It had a 534, and was a triaxle. That thing could really suck gas. Thank goodness gas was only about $.29/gallon back then. And we thought that was bad.

I do. The V-6s were popular with the local fruit business. You'd see those cabovers pulling straddle trailers or flatbeds.Who remembers the GMC 478 V6? When I was a youngster dad had a cab forward Chevy tractor pulling a lowboy trailer. Seemed to have decent torque, but wasn’t fast. Replaced it with a Diamond Reo with a 210 Cummins, we had a big horse then lol.
I would barely trust that engine to run a Jeep. Yes I know they have 4bt Cummins kits for Jeep’s too. Here is one that was factory 4-53 powered, pretty gutless even below gvw.

Hey now the the 4-53s in my crane and fork truck always start and work......They have there place the only way that truck would go over 40 around here is down a mine shaft and you'd probably still have to be on the go pedal.4-53=nothing but noise and not much else.

You can like them-everyone can like them-I don't.
today's overload, a typical 4 axle vac truck sitting on the scales ahead of me at 94,000 lb.
