I'm in the process of buying a new loader through a tender process......Hyundai has bid pretty cheap on a new hl940, and they have a good warranty on the machine. Does anyone have any experience with one of these loaders that could give me a bit of insight on the quality and reliability of the machine?

The HL 940 got a modern driveline and hydraulic layout, can definitely compete with other korean, european or US brands. Also in regard of reliability, robustness, performance, fuel consumption. Guess, your machine you are looking at is equipped with Cummins engine, ZF t/m and axles. 4 speed or already 5 speed with lockup clutch?
Well tested design, nice features.
At the end of the day it is important to have dealer with good and fast support.

Thanks for your input......yes the machine that we're looking at has the Cummins 6.7l and a 4 speed. I'm impressed with the warranty that they offer, my only concern is that the nearest dealer/service dept. is 500 km's away. They have assured me that service trucks are always available.

Couple things to watch out for the "TM" model will not back drag as the bucket spool has been re designed. Second the electric over hydraulic option will not allow you to shake the bucket it's too slow. The machines are good just have to get the right one for the work your doing. Get a standard z bar loader with pilot controls and you'll be happy
