cat 246c starting issues

246c cat 3044 engine wont turn over properly..replaced starter..battery...all battery cables. Still turns over very slow. Removed belt to a/c compressor..removed glow plugs(trying to reduce compression) Seams to be dead heading pressure. Either hydraulic pressure or injection pump? Removed aux relays and unplugged pilot controls..doesnt help. Removed starter from other machine and still same condition. No voltage drop at starter..cable and starter get hot when attempting to crank.. Any guidance would help!!

Based on what you have done so far I would suggest remove the hydraulic filter, cut it open and check the filter media for the presence of anything that shouldn't be there, especially bronze or steel.

Check out YouTube. There are videos showing how to do a filter cut correctly.

Cut filter apart..clean..replaced filter and same problem exists..can turn over till something pressures up..can put wrench on crankshaft and turn over by hand with minimal effort...when cranking it goes slow till starter about gives up..can watch crankshaft spin opposite way even with glow plugs out..fighting pressure somewhere
